Speaking of shitty candidates I would pay good money to have the debate mods ask Harris point blank about whoring her way up the ladder. Not that I think it will happen. That, and someone to ask Gillibrand "Do you really expect people to believe you did a 180 on literally every policy issue as soon as you represented a different demographic?" That one might actually happen. If Biden falls off, who then? Not who you want to win, but who you think will. I'm not really sold on Buttigeig.
I guess this shows that a lot American politicians factually don’t give a shit about 9/11. What a black eye.
Let's not forget about Jeb Bush, the all consuming money pit. He had unloaded his entire war chest by New Hampshire, and plummetted to something like 2% in the polls. That really was a failure for the ages. They don't give a shit about anything, but looky looky! Racists and communists over there!
They will destroy Biden early. But so far, they have been pretty decent to each other. The only candidate who takes constant snipes at the dems is Bernie.
Hopefully for them that was the newspaper swatting on the nose they needed to realize that small groups of idiots don’t usually speak for large groups of people.
God I love a good Jon Stewart roast. He can literally dial the humor level anywhere from pure absurdity (see: Chicago deep dish pizza is a marinara swimming pool for rats) to "fuck you, this matters" (see: Al Qaeda did not yell "death to Tribeca") and it's great either way.
This is a good idea. I would like to see Bernie answer some basic math questions. I think it'd be hilarious for a moderator to test trump on his purported christianity, fill-in-the-blanks style. Like "Adam and...." "After the Old Testament, is the...." "According to the bible, the origin of languages occurred at the Tower of...." "Noah is famous for....." Ask Beto to answer a basic question while keeping his hands by his sides. See if he can even do it. Have someone ask Biden a true or false, did he model his political shtick after Grampa Simpson?
"What is your favorite bible quote?" Trump: "Do not bow to envy." I still can barely believe that one. I mean, just by living you should have heard at least a dozen quotes you can remember. Although, I might agree with him that Art of the Deal is a better book than the bible. Haven't read it myself, but ever tried to read the old testament? Fucking hell man... that's a slog if there ever was one.
Well, he’s right. They should be ashamed of themselves. They’re hypocritical cash whores. Especially considering what a misersble world it’s been since that event, BECAUSE of that event, and if Americsns they ever start to accidentally cheer up you can always leave it to another seventh-inning buzzkill of “God Bless America” to remind them of how miserable they still are about it. Or something like that.
Yeah. This was the best thing he said And, it totally, only applies to the issue he was passionately supporting. Well, that and every other issue, ever. Congress does not hold themselves to the same standards as everyone else. They are power hungry hypocrites, and the only thing they work hard at is making sure they are reelected, to ensure they can continue with their current perks and lifestyle, and be there long enough to get that sweet permanent pension / healthcare / parking place. The percentage of actual good people serving in congress now or over the last 50 years is smaller than the percentage of actual good people in prison.
I know a lot of people here hate AOC, but this shit right here is why I love having her in congress. As a single Rep, she's not going to turn the United States in a dystopian socialist nightmare, but she is going to dad-dick Republicans in public every chance she gets.
Few people are both completely bad or completely good. In general, I can't stand AOC. But she can be smart. Like what you referenced, and her line of questioning in the Kavanaugh hearings. Just because you disagree with someone's politics, doesn't mean you have to agree with the methods they use to get there. And in the case of AOC, I believe she has her heart in the right place, is very intelligent, and she does a great job of calling people out on their BS.
Like most things she does I'm not sure getting outraged over the census asking if someone is a citizen is a good look for the democrat party. I do doubt the purity of republican motives, but that's hardly an outrageous question to ask. Her what? Did she submit the questions to the senate or something?
Actually, I take this back. Their motives are fine. Why should non-citizens count in the drawing of districts? What is the case supposed to be here?
So if you ignore the parts about red savages and slaves which were invalidated by the 13th and 14th Amendments, the constitution is quite clear that the census is designed to count all persons, not just citizens. Census experts have been in agreement since we got rid of the question 60 years ago that asking the question leads to undercounts, and not just among illegal immigrants. The motives of the Republicans are pretty naked, especially since that document dump that included the line that adding the question would be "advantageous to Republicans and Non-Hispanic Whites." It is just another in a long line of Republican efforts to undermine representation for those they believe will not vote for them.
My mistake. I meant the Cohen testimony. There’s been so much fucked up stuff the GOP has done it all blended together.
It's about lowering the number of representatives for the state of California, who are voted for by the citizens of California.
