Unless Manning decides to testify against him, then it’s probably going to be much more than 5 years.
Funny how that worked out, isn't it? https://www.politico.com/story/2019/04/11/mueller-report-assange-wikileaks-1270625 Kind of a fascinating take on it.
As well as, apparently, his supply of razors. I haven't heard anything about him facing those sexual assault charges though. What gives? Is it just so overshadowed by him exposing state secrets and all that? I mean being a traitor is one thing, but being a pedophile AND a traitor... you wanna get shanked in jail? Because that's how you get shanked in jail.
In another fascinating round of the hit gameshow "are elected Republicans really this stupid, or do they just know their voters are?" Thomas Massie, the Kentucky Congressman with a Masters in Electrical Engineering from MIT, had the following exchange with former Secretary of State, John Kerry, despite his own brain not appearing to have RSVP'd: If you're tempted to think perhaps he had a stroke and isn't actually as dumb as his words made him appear, he is currently doubling down aggressively on Twitter.
In the latest installment of everyone's favorite political soap opera, As the Democratic Torpedoes Circle Back: https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/11/oba....html#_gus&_gucid=&_gup=Facebook&_gsc=afrrfve You can really pick any one of dozens of cliches to match up here.
It's just another point to me that everyone who says "there's just too many connections between Trump world and Russia to ignore" is off base. If Mueller's team had shone the light on any particular political group of people eventually you'd see cockroaches scatter. Like it or not foreign lobbying is as lucrative and vaguely legal as domestic lobbying. What? A politician took shit loads of money to curry favor with the US? Color me shocked. Not saying it should be like that to the extent it is but it is currently just the way it is.
So a former member of the Obama administration got indicted ...for work he did for Trump's campaign manager. Very legal and very cool, totally exonerates the President.
So the White House floats this plan to DHS, who responds by basically saying "this is so illegal we don't even know where to begin," and instead of perhaps keeping that quiet, Trump just openly announces his intention to do it. Also busses are a real thing. Migrants migrate.
Manafort? The one charged by Meullers team that they explicitly stated in the their charges that it didn’t relate to the Russian interference? Surely if both of their lobbying for Ukraine was part of the alleged collusion conspiracy Meuller would have dropped the net by now right? Or is he waiting to be subpoenaed before Congress to lay out his whole card? I’d say another charge against someone to unrelated crimes the left just desperately want tied to Trump goes further to prove his point.
Bring it. San Antonio is in the middle of Fiesta, which is basically Mardi Gras except with more Spanish and less law enforcement. Plus it’s a Hispanic-majority town (over 60%) and growing like crazy. Those immigrants will get off the bus, be handed a cold beer and asked if they want an interview.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/12/politics/trump-cbp-commissioner-pardon/index.html It’s cool. Just your run-of-the-mill pardon offer to break the law because the president told you to.
Or we could just have a sensible immigration quota, enforce it, they can go where ever the fuck they want, and not have to wait ten years to become citizens. Lol, just kidding. We don't do that. This is 'Murica! 90,000 migrants to the 'sanctuary' please!
Hilarious how in any other administration this is instantly impeachable on its face, but in the Trump administration it's just Friday.
Completely agree. Both sides are wrong on immigration right now. The extreme of keep everyone out we're closed is just nonsense. And the idea of opening our borders and welcoming everyone with open arms is naive and dangerous. Giving people a path to citizenship, which isn't overly complicated, exclusionary, financially burdensome or time consuming, and then ENFORCING that, is the best policy imo. But so long as we have two parties trying to out-crazy one another, it'll never work. What trump suggested is evil, possibly illegal, and definitely retarded. Also known as "just another day at the WH."
I don’t think anyone is disinterested in a solution to our immigration problems. But the issue is coming to the table when one side is screaming about them being all rapists and drug dealers and “animals”. Where do negotiations start when the president threatens to try to teach his blue state enemies a lesson by talking about immigrant detainees like they are animals to be released into public. Yes, the dems aren’t exactly acting in good faith right now either, but I find it ridiculous to “both sides” this issue. One side is trying to induce chaos to get their way. How do you counter that? Why bother?
They're fucking retarded and straight up too dumb to understand why an open border policy will never work. They conjure economic voodoo arguments, and call anyone who disagrees with them racists. A robust fence is A-OK, but a wall is pure evil. That is the level their discourse is at. But they don't want "open borders"... nah, just no deportations ever. Call the republicans worse if you want, but yes, this is 100% a 'both sides are the problem' issue. Most Americans are pro immigration with reasonable restrictions, but they're too wrapped up in stupid fear mongering for policy change to be implemented. I think ROTN is spot on, at this point they're out-crazying each other.
