I feel like we're not talking enough about the fact that the state of Louisiana illegally denied representation to the state of Arizona. Representation to which it is Constitutionally entitled. Shutdowns happen only when there are very important issues before a very narrowly divided Congress. Johnson's idea that Arizona's rep doesn't get sworn in until after the issue is settled is saying that Arizona does not get to fully participate in resolving these very important and narrowly divided issues. It's so insanely unconstitutional it's not funny.
I have a hard time finding a justification for shutting down the government every time the session budget comes due. What an embarrassment.
