I don't have any interest in watching the whole service. But I assume they had Barron Trump sing Tomorrow Belongs To Me?
That wasn't a memorial, it was a straight up Nazi rally lead by Stephen Miller. If you take his speech, translate it into German, it would not seem at all out of place in a Hitler speech in 1933. Just waiting on the Enabling Act of 2025 to come down the pipeline in the next few months and for them to start the Kirk National Anthem as the official song of the Nazi...I mean MAGA party. I know I dipped out of the US, but if people who are opposed to Trump don't coalesce and get out there to disrupt his stranglehold over the US, I don't think there's a pathway to anything but a complete MAGA takeover of the US with Trump as the defacto dictator.
Every clip I’ve seen has just been annoying. I saw the clip of Erika Kirk saying she forgives the shooter - reminds me of my years growing up in the non-denominational church world. Purely performative. The crowd knows it’s performative, too. They are part of the performance, and they love it.
She saw her husband murdered in front of her. That's not a terrible way to go about the grieving process. Would you rather her get up there and make a call for arms or something? I wouldn't.
Saw that both the NY Post and Times* had it as their front page. * The post is and has always been a tabloid shit rag for YEARS now and it's sad that the times isn't even bothering to hide that they're just the fancy "both sides" version of that shit.
Isn't that what she did when she said "You have no idea what you have unleashed?" I know that she didn't outright say: "Let's kill those Godless Lefty sons of bitches!", but the Right LOVES to make veiled threats in that fashion. Ex: "We will march to the Capitol! If you don't fight, you're not going to have a country anymore. I will be right there with you!" He didn't SAY "storm the Capitol, break things, shit on Nancy Pelosi's desk, and try to assault members of the opposing party," but he didn't say "We will protest peacefully until our voices are heard!" either.
To be fair, I'm pretty sure this is how Stephen Miller thought he looked giving his speech: He was even talking about dragons.
No, of course I wouldn’t. In my opinion, she is doing this because it’s part of the overall performance of the Grand Charlie Kirk Memorial Rally Gala. All the other speakers can be the call to arms. She can whisper into the mic that she forgives him. And I understand it can be part of a grieving process, as I’ve seen many victim impact statements go that route. I just don’t believe she’s doing what’s best for her grieving process, but that she’s doing what’s best for the program.
Just to clear this up, she and her kids were not at the rally when he was shot. It has been passed around since the shooting that she saw it up close and personal, but she was in a different state when he was shot.
Also she immediately took over for Kirk on turning point. So grieve, but make sure to INSTANTLY keep printing money while doing it. Everyone wants the point of view of a completely insane Bible-thumping beauty pageant winner who graduated from a fake school (Liberty). Charlie in the other hand, never graduated from anywhere and apparently never had a real job, ever. These are your modern “All-Americans”. So relatable.
If I were Kimmel I wouldn't have come back until and unless Iger agreed to join Kimmel on the stage on his first show back and publicly apologize to the audience.
