You can pretend like it’s just some statement of fact when it’s clearly being pushed as a narrative to lessen the political benefit of Trump. It can be both. Hell he was asked about it in the committee hearing to clarify it to counter this narrative. So both sides are tactically trying to use the situation to their benefit. It would appear the left isnt above using it as a tactic even though they have the moral high ground in the situation. It goes beyond indirect lines of this topic. What is really gross to me is that it took some doxxing and real world consequences for people to tactically shame people into using coded language, used even on this board, into not cheering for or outright calling for his assassination. Lets you know where the opposition’s base really stands on the topic.
I, too, thought it was revolting the way some here first talked about the assassination attempts. Then I remembered there are Trump supporters that want many of the top household names of the Democratic party to die, the way some here are talking about Trump. Knowing MAGA, their wish list is probably much longer. Remember, politicians hid from many of them on J6. Everyone can stop clutching pearls. It's also nothing new, or we wouldn't have the list of assassinations and failed attempts that we have in our history books. It may seem new or more widespread, but that's just because people will say anything on the internet nowadays, and the consequences for doing just that are even newer. It's still revolting, really, I just stopped pretending it wasn't going both ways. I just want us to meet somewhere near the middle, politically. Policies for which we're all equally unhappy sound real nice right about now.

The difference is that one party is actually embracing fascist ideas, and racial minorities and LBGT people are actually victims of hate crimes, and women are actually having their bodily autonomy stripped. Instead of the completely fabricated bullshit fantasy world that the privileged white Christians are constructing, where they are the most oppressed and victimized segment of society. It's not that doomscrolling isn't a real thing, and it's not that hyperbolic rhetoric doesn't exist online, because it is certainly a problem. But drawing a parallel between these sides made me literally laugh out loud when I read it. There are real vulnerable groups who are really having their rights eroded, and watching increasingly emboldened extremist groups that are hearing that their ideals might be acceptable. This isn't hyperbole. Comparing that to the delusional people who think that their inability to inflict Christianity on the rest of the population means they are oppressed, and who believe that socialism is an actual thing that's happening, is offensive.
I know Christians have always been the boogeyman of the left. These days the hate and tacit approval of bigotry and violence by the left towards Jews and Israel makes everything you said laughably hypocritical.

You compared that to comments on gun forums about white Christians thinking they're being oppressed. The former is a real thing that's happening, the latter is not a real thing that's happening.
