    It's funny that all over the state[MN] there are heat warnings but right in the Duluth harbor, on Lake Superior, it's about 50 degrees with wind and light fog at times. I work outside and needed a hoodie and coveralls to be comfortable.

    I have to work on the 4th (with no fucking holiday pay - how unpatriotic when you work for a gov't contractor) so I'm going to drink my face off this weekend. The tank top tan will once again be a bikini tan in the very near future.

    Dirty martini for the greyhound, IPA for my lab and White Russian for my cat.

    I grew up with basset hounds. They would drink Jim Beam exclusively. In fact, one of them has licked spilled Beam and Coke off the floor with a smile.

    Also, I need to cook dinner at the firehouse this Sunday. I need suggestions that aren't burgers and dogs because that has already been veto'ed by the senior guys.

    Lousy week. The only redeeming factor is that it only has four days in which I need to work. And that's not much comfort.

    In fact, never mind lousy week. Lousy entire fucking month. And for some reason the god damned employer still hasn't figured out how to pay me how much I'm supposed to be getting paid. You'd think issues like "I am getting paid less than half of what I am supposed to" would warrant some attention and quick action to fix because getting paid is, well, fucking important. Yeah, well, you'd be wrong.

    4 tablespoons ground cumin
    2 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
    2 1/2 tablespoons paprika
    2 teaspoons fresh ground black pepper
    3/4 teaspoon salt
    4 tablespoons white vinegar
    3 tablespoons white wine
    3 tablespoons canola oil
    1 (3 to 4 pound) roasting chicken

    I skip the brining and just marinate the chicken all day, then slap it on the rotisserie for about 70 minutes on medium heat. Ridiculously great alternative to plain ole bbq chicken. If you don't have a rotisserie, marinate the pieces then slow grill them for a good 45 minutes. Jerk style is also the fucking tits.

    Watching a show on bi-polar children. None of them really stand out as disturbed other than the fact they all need 5 across the eyes. But, hey, this is why I'm not a shrink. I'd like a government grant to test my methods in any case.

    Speaking of Red Bull, I've never had one. Am I missing anything?

    I've never thought about it much, but Red Bull must have an insane amount of cash to sponsor all the sports shit they do. They have two Formula 1 teams, a major sponsor of a WRC team, plus feeder series for each, a feeder series for motogp, airplane racing, flugtag, that crazy skating down ramps shit, and all manner of extreme sports. What the hell.

    Red Bulls are outrageously expensive. You aren't missing much, they taste like shit and for my money I'd drink an Amp over Red Bull any day. They go decent with vodka, and back when I could still drink Jager I remember Jagerbombs being pretty tasty. Speaking of, that would be my dog's drink of choice if only because she'd be pumped that there may be deer blood in it and I wouldn't have the heart to tell her otherwise.


    Also, Star-spangled jello shots: awesome or kinda gay?
