Make it like ICE except you don’t hire sociopathic racist retards to do the job. Treat these people like they are on parole and see how long their “pride” lasts.

Except HIPAA exists. Plus, in terms of demographics, a large percentage of non-white people are either not fully vaccinated or are completely unvaccinated. Shutting people out of things would be creating a de facto state of institutional racism, or at least a more severe one. We should not take this approach unless we want to end up like South Africa.

The people that don't want to get vaccinated cover a wide range of demographics and political views. Over the past 25 years or so, the public trust of "the government" and "the media" has eroded to historic lows. And now the government and the media is telling them to get vaccinated. Shame isn't going to cut it. What's going to change in the next few months?

I don’t personally agree with them and they are politically toxic where even the president has to pander against them currently but I think a fresh set of lockdowns would scare people into line without shaming. States start curtailing bars and shutting down concert venues and you’d see rates tick up.

I will get back to you in a few months, when we compare our countries’ fatality ratios then. We are similar to UK where we just accepted the scientific facts and pretty much all got vaccinated. Your country did far from that.

The people who refused to vaccinate WILL once again put you right back where you started. The thing we’re most nervous about up here is letting Americans into the country, because a large percentage of your citizens are ignorant pricks who adamantly refuse to accept what is going on in the world. This is a planet we share, it is NOT the privilege of the lowest common denominator to fuck it up.

I hope this does not happen to your country again, because a majority of your citizens are logical, decent and responsible with being safe. But it probably will happen again, and in a few months you’ll probably join me in simply wishing death on these irresponsible, objectively stupid people.

My wife's cousin just tested positive and apparently isn't doing all that great. He's mid 20s. Funny, how they all saw the shit I went through, and half of my in laws -- including this dumbass -- were like "yes!! That looks like something I wanna subject myself to! I will pass on the shot!" Imagine seeing someone near death for several weeks, and then wishing he was dead for several months thereafter, and being like "oh yeah, that's totally the preferred alternative to a vaccination."

Jesus, sorry dude. My mom just had her second negative test in a couple days. Last week she came down with a high fever, bad cough, congestion and loss of taste/smell. She’s fully vaccinated but we were still a bit worried. I guess she just got some other random respiratory virus.

It's weird how after so long without getting sick (at least for my bubble), getting sick feels so strange.

Oh no don’t apologize. I’m not happy per se, but I don’t exactly feel sorry for him either. Like that’s what you get at this point, stupid selfish asshole.

People are all about freedom of choice, but then they can’t handle the logical outcome of those choices they were allowed.

As a real world example of this very true statement, there was a huge outcry here when Texas froze over and the police and EMS and firefighters couldn't get around safely or respond as quick as people would like. Well, they could have been more prepared with better equipment, but you know, small government and all that.... I more than once replied "I hate it when liberal services are down."

I'm finally seeing the specialist SIX GODDAMN WEEKS after I broke my leg. Because people who don't wanna get vaccinated clog up the fucking healthcare system once they decide to use it to save them from the consequences of their stupid fucking choice. I swear to god if the specialist sees me tomorrow and is like "you waited too long, now you need surgery" I'm gonna go to that cousin's house at night and cut off the fucking electricity at the breaker.

Add to this, just found out one of my good friends -- completely different state, NA beer brewer -- is also going through covid. He was fully vaccinated, and apparently he got a bad version of the kind you get when you're vaccinated (he was healthy otherwise). Dude was down for a few days, and we were comparing notes on that horrible mental state you get into when you're like "this is scary, I know this can turn bad in a hurry, please don't." It's really messed him up mentally, in a very similar though very minor way compared to what the full blown thing did to me.

There's gonna be a lot of expensive therapy bills in my future, as there will be for most everyone who experienced this. Worse though, my boys will always remember how bad that got.

Y'all, I don't give a shit about your grandmothers. Do this for you and your families. Get the fucking shot.

It seems we will get vaccine mandates and further incentives/ coercion before a lock down.

That said, I wonder if the media shit show is making the anti Vax and mask crowds seem bigger than they are. Ffs, 170 million people got at least one shot, and a solid 90 million can't get it due to age or health restrictions. Call it another 15 million get a 2nd dose and another 5 million for good measure, we should be at 280 million folks vaccinated or ineligible.

That's less than 50 million who could but don't, which still seems high, but is a clear minority.

I am hopeful for some push back on the hypocrisy asking the feds for help, while publicly decrying masks and vaccines, but the politicians secretly getting vaccinated. Cunts.

A particular feature of our representative democracy is that the many will elect the few to speak on their behalf, and so the few are empowered to act on behalf of the many. My point being that you don't need a massive crowd of antivaxxers to fuck shit up. Just enough small groups bussed into local school boards to raise a ruckus, and now the few are bullied into ignoring the needs of the many. "Unmask Our Kids" etc.

Parents complaining about their high school kids having to wear masks to school are hilarious. My daughter has worn a mask to daycare every day since July 2020. She’s 3-years-old and has never once complained about it.

The wee ones are the best at it. They respect the authority of adults and they don’t make up fake complaints to worm out of an easy task.

OK, so the hospitals cannot ethically turn them away, but maybe they should exercise the courage of their convictions? Is that too much to expect?
