Correct, because we only care about US deaths. You hit that one on the nose.

You're editorializing some opinion of yours and trying to compare apples to oranges. If you think COVID and TB are the same, and should be handled the same, well, you'd be wrong.

No, you don't care about US deaths. That's why the rest of the world wants you to stay the fuck out of our country, and why you're "A #1" in the "deaths per capita" rankings.

You need to get your own shit in line before you worry about "saving" the rest of the world... and yes, that starts by getting your citizens to wear fucking masks and doing the right thing.

Explain what? You STILL haven't communicated what you're hypothesis is, other than blather on about shaming masks and moral high ground and hate poor people and "prove me wrong."

    What's your point?

    Use your words.

Aside from the fact that you have two highly infectious diseases with similar traits in regards to means of infection and mortality rate being handled completely differently?

That is a faulty premise... show me where TB and COVID are the same, and should be treated the same?

Never said they’re the same. Look at my previous post, or don’t. Rate and means of infection are similar. There are many differences.

There are enough differences that they should be treated and handled differently:

Again, just because you think that they seem similar and warrant the same treatment doesn't make it so... the professionals disagree with you. But by all means, state your case, other than "I think they should be treated the same".

The simple answer is "the WHO and the specialists all say to handle it differently". Which is good enough for me.

So tell me... where do you sit with the "wear a mask" stuff? On board with it? Think it's a waste of time or a hoax?

    It's hard to tell...

No... you asked why TB and COVID were being treated differently, and I said "I think because this".

I'm now asking a question that I think is directly to what I think is the motivation of you posting that stuff the first place... I think you disagree with wearing a mask, and think it's all just political bullshit and if it's not needed for TB then we shouldn't need it for COVID, that kind of thing.

To quote someone else, "prove me wrong".

The WHO said masks were ineffective a few months ago. Why would they say that?

    Holy fuck dude...

    Because SCIENCE.

You have an understanding of something new. You make your best guess based on the info you have and your experience. Time goes on. You dig into it. You learn shit. You re-evaluate. You change your opinion.

You do bring up a good point though- Why would two airborne diseases, both with similar metrics on infection rate and mortality rate, be treated so differently?

Because metrics and mortality rates have nothing to do with the means by which it is contracted or the process by which it spreads or the way it survives various environments.

Big drops vs little drops. That kind of thing.

COVID = big drops, therefore masks help, even shitty ones. TB = little drops, therefore masks don't help as much.

Next you'll pull out the whole "but I can smell farts" defence.

    "defence"

Dude... you're all over the place.

N95 masks do help with the spread of TB... and only n95 because the drops are so small. But you won't see people wearing them in public to stop TB because it's not a pandemic, most people are vaccinated against it, and it can be treated with antibiotics. That's why the US has such a small number of cases of them, and they are decreasing steadily (until the anti-vaxors came along).

COVID is a global pandemic and is spreading like crazy, killing hundreds of thousands of Americans, and wearing just about ANY type of mask helps contain that.

But let me guess... you're anti-mask, aren't you?
