I have GEICO as well. Their modus operandi is to get you to sign up at fantastic rates, then creep those rates up with no explanation over ensuing years. This is exactly what happened to me, and I'm now paying just as much, if not slightly more, than I was with State Farm. I will be switching in the near future. Hey, at least you can save some dough for a few years, just be forewarned that your rates will go up.

I'm really retarded with computers, so this is probably the most ridiculous post on this thread.

I downloaded a form for Word, and it's not letting me add boxes to a chart. I've searched Word's "Help", and there's zero help. Would someone be willing to look at this document and tell me how to fix it/why I'm a bonehead?

Somehow I got some shit on my computer that automatically sends out an email with a link to boner pills or some shit to everyone in my contact list. I downloaded 3 things to try to fix it. Spybot search and destroy. Ad-Aware SE. And Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes and Ad-Aware detected a bunch of shit and deleted it all. But the Spybot one has something like 30 files that it can't delete. I get a message telling me to contact a system administrator or someone with access to the files, which makes no sense because I'm the only profile thing set up on my computer. I'm not sure what the file names are or anything. Basically, is there anything else I can do to get rid of this shit? Since I never use my email to actually contact anyone I know, I deleted all the contacts to keep from giving them all an inbox full of spam shit. Anything else I can do?

A lot of the time, these things start because something either tricked you into giving it your password, or your password was simple and a computer was able to guess it. Was this a web-based email address? A lot of these can be stopped just by changing your password. Make your password at least 8 characters long, and include both upper and lower-case letters and numbers.

If your email is accessed through Outlook, Outlook Express, or some other stand-alone program, changing your password might or might not work.

The whole thing could have nothing to do with your computer, at least not anymore. Once they have your password, they can access your account from any computer with internet access.

Take a copy of your Geico quote back to your current insurance agent and discuss it with them. They may be able to match the price, or they may be able to show you differences between the coverages where Geico is cutting some of the costs in not-so-obvious ways that could potentially come back to bite you. I don't have a lot of experience with Geico, but a lot of the "cost-saving" quotes reduce or eliminate coverages (or raise deductibles) for storm damage, fire/flood damage, uninsured motorist or hit-and-run coverage, windshield replacements, vandalism, etc. If you do decide to switch to Geico, make sure you go through and check that all the coverage areas are the same as your old policy.

I'm interested in getting a pinball machine or full arcade machine for my man cave.

I'm really leaning towards the pinball machine, but with all the moving parts, I have a feeling they breakdown all the time.

Anyone have a pinball machine? Do they require a lot of maintenance?

My brother and I are trying to plan a trip to DC and need some suggestions as to where to stay. I had originally thought we would stay really close to all the museums and such (like L' Enfant) since my brother is in a wheelchair. I did some reading on handicapped parking around the Mall and it seems that it isn't a problem. So... now I'm toying with the idea of staying a little further away, for less money. I much prefer boutique hotels to large chains and I'm leaning towards The Churchill. Anyone know anything about it and/or can give me parking tips? Recommendations for cool bars & restaurants is also appreciated.

We had this one for ten years when I was growing up as well as a Space Invaders arcade machine. My dad was able to handle all of the the wear and tear maintenance that occurred without any trouble. I distinctly remember the electric chair and polar bear breaking after being hit by balls. As a disclaimer my dad had a couple arcade machines he'd put in pizza parlors during the 80's, so he had some experience with similar things but this was his first pinball machine.

As far as choosing a machine, Addams Family is definitely the way to go. Since it was so popular there's a huge owner's community and its relatively easy to get parts for in addition to being extremely fun to play (even if you despise the Addams Family movie). Indiana Jones is a close second, but not nearly as popular and you can expect to spend about 1k more than you would on the Addams Family.

I'm posting this in the Automotive Thread too.

I'm having a problem with the CD player in my car. Its the factory installed CD player/AM/FM stereo in my 2000 Ford Explorer XLT. When I put a CD in everything is fine for about the first 8 tracks. Starting with track 9 or so there's this weird scratchy noise that gets progressively worse with each track. Track 9 is listenable but 10 and after are awful.

Its not the CD, I tried with different CDs from different genres and tried messing with the bass and treble settings and nothing fixes it.

Is it just old and I should get an after market stereo? Can someone recommend one?

    Help please.

If you're looking for car stereo anything, head over to Crutchfield.com. You can put in your car and it will show you ONLY stereos that will fit in your car. Depending on how involved replacing your factory stereo will be, Crutchfield also gives you hardware to make your new stereo fit nicely.
I don't know if other companies do this too, but I've put JVC stereos from Crutchfield in a 2002 Acura RSX and a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee without problems. Their phone customer support is really good, too.

Ok, so I have tickets to next Monday's Phillies/Marlins game in Miami, does anyone happen to know where the Phillies stay when the travel to Miami? My wife and sister-in-law are huge Phillies fans and I thought it would be a nice surprise if we stayed in the same hotel while we are over there.

Are burgers bad for you/are burgers healthy?

I don't mean from like McDonald's or something, I mean like grilling a burger yourself or getting one from a decent restaurant.

It's a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" type of question. Every burger is different. They can be healthy, or they can be unhealthy.

If you made a lean beef burger (cooked with fat drained) with salad and wholemeal bun, it would be relatively healthy. The worst thing would probably be the sauce.

On the other hand, a burger on a white bun heaped with bacon, cheese and mayo is going to be full of fat, sugar, processed carbs and salt.

It's a red-meat. If you have red-meat every day then yes, it's very bad for you. Use common sense.

Is there anyone who speaks Italian natively? I'm wanting to get a tattoo in Italian on my back of the poem "Invictus" by William Ernest Henley, but I can't find any translations online.

I'd rep you but it didn't fit.

You want to get an English poem translated to Italian and have it tattooed on your back? And you'd like to have any anonymous Italian asshole to do it?

On second thought, yeah, sure, get the tattoo. It'll be sick bro!

No asshole. I'm wanting to get a good basis for a translation beforehand so I can go to an actual translator and have him/her correct whatever was not correct.

Next time shut the fuck up if you don't know the whole story or have anything constructive to say.

If you're going to pay a translator anyways, why the fuck bother looking for someone to do it here?

Translators take into account the time it will take to translate whatever work they are doing. If part of it is already done, it makes the job that much easier.

Not that I'm a cheapskate or anything, but I also want to get a rough idea of what the poem is going to sound like before I throw down money for something that may or may not sound like shit.
