Cosetta has great Italian food and is a block down from the Xcel Energy Center. Further down 7th street is Bennett's which serves a delicious New York strip. Going the other way up 7th from the XEC is Red's Savoy Pizza, which is on the corner of 7th & US52. The XEC is in St. Paul, but if she's going to be in Minneapolis I recommend The Local, which is an Irish pub in downtown on the corner of 10th Str. & Nicollet Mall. They have a tasty burger and their chicken shots are awesome.
Last couple of times I went to Winterpeg I took DCC out to Hy's... found it quite good. Great wine list, awesome steaks... perfectly in my wheelhouse: http://hyssteakhouse.com/gallery/?location=3
Hopefully this link works here, because I can't view it in Canada: http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/segments/116106 Little Big Town performed on Fallon, and the lead singer is wearing some kind of jewelry on her right hand. It almost looks like beads threaded around her fingers. Does anyone know what that's called? I think it looks awesome and I don't have a clue what to even type into google to find it.
Trakiel has good suggestions for St. Paul. Cosetta is fantastic. The Como Park Conservatory would be a nice place to visit (for free) between Minneapolis and St. Paul if the weather is good. Likewise the St. Anthony Main area of Minneapolis will be perfect for walking around if they want to be outside around the river with the best view of downtown. I'd recommend the Weisman Art Museum on the U of M campus if they feel like a nice little museum visit. Is there any kind of food in particular they like? Either way, my favorite restaurant is Brasa and they have locations in both Minneapolis and St. Paul.
Does anybody have a recommendation for a sheet of material that can be bent (bowed) into an arch, but won't crease? I just got new furniture, and the recliners need to be slightly away from the wall. But we have cats with claws. So I want to create a long arch-tunnel between the wall and furniture, so the cats have a place to go but can't scoot against the fabric and claw at it - but when the seat is reclined, the material gives and lets the seat back push against it. Probably needs to be a 4x8 sheet of material.
A cheap solution would be to get lots of those little kid sleds that a just thick pieces of plastic that you can roll up.
You can actually get sheets of plastic or ABS, like a 4'x8' sheet, of varying thickness, that you can cut and will bend just like you want it to. Find a local plastic warehouse who carries plexiglass or some such stuff, and odds are they'll be able to help you. It comes in varying colours, and you might know it best as the laminate that is used on bands' road cases. I built a trailer-sized road case using it as a laminate for plywood:
I've been moving around my entire life. For the past few years I've been working as a travel nurse, switching locations every 3-6 months. I've made the decision that I'm going to pick a place to settle down permanently. I'm giving myself a year to get there. I'm down to 4 options. I have a good idea how much average salaries are in 2 of my 4 options. The other two I'm getting wildly varying data. Also, for the life of me I cannot find a good cost of living calculator. (I've googled plenty, the ones I've found are lacking) 1) If anyone has some good resources for average pay (specifically nurse pay) in various cities, I would appreciate it. Glassdoor, Indeed, Payscale, etc vary and I've compared them to places that I've worked at, they're off by quite a bit. 2) Can someone point me to a good cost of living calculator? I want to be sure that I can afford the lifestyle that I want. Thanks!
I have heard Clark Howard mention www.Homefair.com before, and it is a resource for both of those things. I'm not sure if it just links you to other websites, though.
Can anyone recommend a good proofreading service for a 77,415 word novel? While I'm open to any advice, the essential things I need are only basic proofreading, and to catch any glaringly stupid continuity errors (limited copy editing, if you will).
This is a long shot, but I thought I would give it a try. When I was in high school, I bought this book from the Dollar Store in the mall. It was about this guy who lived with his three siblings. He had a twin sister who was kind of odd, but he got along with her. Then he had an older brother who was a massive dickhead and the book ends with the two of them getting into a huge fight. He also has a younger brother who is a computer genius and ends up moving out of the house because he gets a job with a tech company and he secretly hates all his siblings. The narrator is in high school and at one point he makes friends with a girl based on what she writes in her journal, but the friendship doesn't go anywhere. At the end of the book, there is a school shooting. The title of the book made my yoga instructor assume it was about cheerleading. Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about?
What are the characters' names? I can usually answer these kinds of questions with Google (found Robert Lipsyte's The Contender this way), but characters' names help.
No clue. I have given you all of the information I have. I tried searching Google Books and a few university databases over the years, but I haven't come up with anything.
Is there a free design tool online, specifically for a kitchen? I'm playing around with the idea of redoing the kitchen but I am on the fence and would rather not pay an architect the money for something that isn't 100%
The wife and I have decided that the time has come for us to try to have a kid. This month was her last on birth control and we're going to use condoms for the next 3-4 months before giving it a go (based on advice from her doc). I haven't used a condom in a decade. Any recommendations? Do they have Bluetooth built in yet? Syncing to an activity tracker would be sweet.
Can anyone here attest to the quality and reliability of current Volkswagen models? Specifically the Golf. I'm starting stressful task of car shopping and want something that will last me a good while. I was interested in the turbo diesels because they get awesome gas mileage and I drive a lot for work. Can anyone recommend cars that they personally know and love? I'm trying to avoid family sedans and the like.
So due my own laziness of not cleaning it regularly, my seldom used downstairs toilet has developed a ring just above the water line in the bowl that can't be removed with a conventional toilet cleaner. According to the Googles, I should soak it for a few hours with bleach or vinegar or Coke to dissolve it. My problem is, whenever I add any liquid to the bowl to soak the ring, within a few seconds the water level goes back to where is was before I added anything to it. This is no good because the ring I want to dissolve is just slightly above the water's resting level. I can raise/lower the amount of water in the tank by adjusting the float, but this has no effect on the level in the bowl. Does any body know what I can do to get the amount in the bowl up? Thanks in advance.
