The Venn diagram of people complaining about these riots and Colin Kaepernick taking a knee to protest police brutality is a perfect circle. Change has never occurred for oppressed people without civil unrest. Examples that immediately come to mind include the Civil Rights Act, gay marriage, and every country that had to fight for their independence.

Here’s an NYPD cop violently throwing a girl half his size to the street just now. Not to detain or arrest, just to hurt her. He walks away like it’s nothing, so he gets to do that and she goes to the hospital: that is your current world as of right now.
