Inspired by a rant that someone started that some rich looking prick didn't donate the extra buck for "kids with leukemia", and every time I walk into McDonalds, Burger King, Wal-Mart etc they always offer to write my name on a little piece of paper and stick it on the wall if only I will GIVE them an extra buck. It'll mean I care right. Bullshit It means you can appear to care while offering money to some corporation. If I want to help a kid with some illness I will, either directly or through a charity where I get my own write offs. Why help Ronald McDonald save cash? Same with those colored bracelets? You know what you support when you wear those? The guy that makes them who gives some of his money (corporate write off) so that he can allow you to feel like you makes a difference in the world without actually ever doing anything. But hey, that’s just my opinion. Focus: Movements, groups etc that look like people care but truly are simply bullshit.
Government administration- Post Office, IRS, DMV to name a few. These assholes play by a separate set of rules, namely to assist at their own pace. That is if they decide to help at all.

Ruckus Society, Co-Motion or any other protest group that exists for no other reason than to stir up shit. Here's how groups like this work: an actual protest is happening, be it union workers, tree-hugging dirtbags, or various special interest cunts. Groups like Co-Motion show up and start shit on anybody who isn't the protesters: berating security, badgering temp workers, laying in front of vehicles, vandalism, hanging dumb-ass banners from building roofs, etc. It's all fun and games to them, because they are sans rudder. That's the greatest thing about it: they have no cause. They simply have nothing better to do with their jobless, low-life gypsy lives. Oh, also my new favourite: The so-called American Family Association. These people are so retardedly lost they could dumb down ACTUAL Dumb.
The Communist Party... Be it American, Russian, whatever. Socialism, particularly Communism, is a load of fucking crap that has killed more people than damn near anything else. Sure, it looks great on paper; but like most things once you try to employ it en mass it turns into a colossal cluster fuck. I mean the goddamn Nazi's killed what... 10 million or so in the Holocaust (aside from the overwhelming numbers of dead from the world war they caused); but Mao, Stalin, and Pol Pot make Hitler look like a Saturday night amateur. No other organization of any sort has been responsible for more human suffering, terror, or misery that I can comprehend. Even the Westboro Baptist Church isn't as bad as the former East German government. Occupy Wall Street has more redeeming qualities than the local Commies. The Communist Party (for purposes of discussion here, I thus refer to the Communist movement as a whole) has ruined many nations, and torn apart countless lives worldwide to further a flawed and despicable ideology. I realize I say this at the risk of a political discussion which I believe is a big no-no here, but I have no love for a goddamn Socialist of any color.
Making a pink version of your product and saying that buying it will help cure breast cancer. Fuck you. Anyone with half a brain can see that the only thing you're attempting to benefit is your company and increasing your sales.

Same thing with those "Support The Troops" stickers / magnets that have become so fashionable to sport. The thought is nice, but giving your money to a for-profit company who donates a small percentage of their income to whatever isn't really helping, and if you really support the troops at least make the fucking effort to call or mail your congresspeople and tell them to bring the troops home from expensive and pointless wars. Oh, and the 99% / Occupy Wall Street movement or whatever it is. Quit your bitching and get back to work, hippies.
Whoa. Hey. Just a fucking minute. I could have easily been referring to a cunt rather than a prick. And really, I didn't do a good job of explaining, but that rant wasn't based on one person. It was based on dozens. See, the problem with most people is that they don't give a fuck. It's not their problem. The $1 donation at a store puts the option out there where it's hard to ignore, and provides a way for people to give a paltry donation that, when matched by many, many people, eventually becomes a notable amount. So yeah, the people who don't care, don't pay attention, those are who this is targeting. And who knows, maybe a few of those people will see the walk advertised and decide to raise money themselves. I don't expect the dregs of McDonald's and Walmart customers to help any more than I expect a welfare junkie to browse the job ads in the paper. But when I see people coming through and spending $10-20 on lunch just for themselves, I expect them to cough up a dollar more. But hey, fuck the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I'm sure all these walks, the balloons that advertise for and contribute to the walks, the volunteers: It's not about the children, it's about the self-satisfaction and complacency of everyone else. New Focus: Disease victims who everyone feels bad for, but really don't have it all that bad. Fuck. You.
I fucking hate targeted cancer charity. There should be one and only one cancer charity, the resources of which should be diverted in a manner that correlates with the lethality and prevalence of the particular flavors of the big C. If you disagree fuck you, you have an agenda.
Is anyone in this country unaware of Breast Cancer anymore? I mean "raising Breast Cancer awareness" is about as noble and necessary a goal as "educating the American public on the dangers of smoking."
There is. The American Cancer Society. The offshoot charities that raise money for funding research for particular cancers (or other illnesses) are typically borne out of personal experience with that illness, either by the person themself or surviving family members. A person is more likely to make a donation/get involved if they can make a personal connection with the cause, i.e., know someone with the illness. And managing such charitable foundations isn't something you just pick up on along the way. It never ceases to amaze me how cynically myopic this place can be.
