This may ending up being a horribly, horribly mean practical joke, but it appears that Arrested Development will be returning for a limited run before a movie is released. I just blue myself. From Huffington Post: Look like Obama just secured his re-election Focus: Let's all get our hopes up. There's no way we'll be let down.
I. Cannot. Fucking. Wait. I always thought this show was too smart for the masses. Maybe Im just being elitist, but when According to Jim goes on for 8 seasons and AD doesnt get renewed for a 4th, something is seriously fucking wrong with the viewing population.
I think it is an awesome show, though the premise of the show started getting increasingly repetitive by the end. I can see from that standpoint why it was canceled. Very excited for this to be coming back.
This is awesome! I don't know why more people don't know about this show. I mentioned it to classmates a few weeks ago and they stared at me with blank expressions. I don't think they had even heard of it. WTF?
Why can't fan boys just let it go. (Myself excluded) It has been 5 fucking years since the show ended. The actors have moved on, they haven't been those people that they were in the show, and I can imagine the chemistry is lost. The show ended on a high note, and that is respectable. They don't need to bring it back like Futurama, Family Guy and so on. And they don't need to keep dragging it on like The Simpsons, HIMYM and so on.
Except, had things gone according to plan, the movie would have come out very shortly after the original series ended. They didn't, so it got pushed back. Not really a fanboy thing, Hurwitz and the cast have been interested the whole time.
This is great news. I'll be looking forward to the mini-series and the movie... Excuse me, do these effectively hide my thunder? And the business card...
Sounds great. A refresh and catching up with the characters who have 5 years of story to fill in and then the movie. Can't fucking wait.
I am setting my expectations as low as possible because I think this has the potential to ruin the series. This way, when it ruins the series, I won't be as disappointed. Feel free to call me a chicken for taking this stance. Or do your favorite chicken dance.
Good news. It took me a while to finally get into this show, but this past summer I watched the first season and ended up really enjoying it. The cast was perfect, and the comedy was much my style. Will be seeking out the next two seasons at the library soon.
