I didn't see any K-OS on here. He is from Toronto. I'm not huge into hip-hop but I would still consider this hip-hop. And I enjoy this whole album, 'Atlantis-Hymns for Disco'.

Another single form Lupe's new album, "I'm Beamin." I can't wait for lasers.

I've been retrospectively going through my rap collection and I've fallen in love again with Dr. Octagonecologyst. The premise, as far as concept albums go, is brillant. An incompetent, sex-obsessed doctor conducts his rounds as patients die all around him.

In my opinion I'm destructive perfectly reflects the absurdity of the album:

Sorry I can't link this as a video. Click on the link, it's worth it:

    http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xbigt3_greg-street-presents-cyhi-da-prynce_music

Cyhi da Prynce. He was on Kanye's Blog a couple of days ago (red dot me for Kanye if you must--but try and find a better maintained blog by a great hiphop artist (before 808's)).

Anyways, listen to the first song, Studda. Pretty fuckin' cool how he plays that, if you ask me.

I have to second this, this song has been on heavy rotation for about a month now.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Bun B's newest mixtape, "No Mixtape", that came out a couple weeks ago. He stays away from the slower southern beats and raps over more of the mainstream radio Drake/Wayne/Jay-z beats. If you can't wait for the album there are a few unfinished snippets (one of them recently leaked with Drake on the hook) that should hold you over until April.

    Adrenaline Rush

He hasn't really been discussed here since around the time his album came out but they just finished up the video for Wale's new single "Pretty Girls". You can see it here. Cool video that really fits his style well, no Maybachs or Ferraris, no video hoezz, just a few cameos and some good looking girls he recruited from Twitter.

Clipse are playing in Toronto March 7th. I will be there, screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs. Come out if you're in the 416.

Something about this Gucci Mane remix has a hold of me and refuses to let go.

I recently have gotten into Jedi Mind Tricks and Army of the Pharaohs a little bit and I came across this album today: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Soul_Purpose

I recommend giving it a listen, specifically these songs:

Saw Lupe last night. Stoked. Amazing. The only thing bigger than his talent is his ego, and I loved it. I was dead-centre middle at the front.

Reason for posting; can someone recommend me some good hip hop? I don't like "gangsta rap", and I'm pretty mainstream in terms of my tastes. I really enjoy Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Outkast. So like, great production values, maybe a bit pop-y. Any good introductions to hip-hop?

Found this guy while reading a local sports blog that's backing him.

I'm not sure what I think. He needs better production and I think he'll need to watch the line he walks as he's from a wealthy suburb of Boston and not the hood but there's something catchy about his stuff.

A little too much intro in this one but he has some really good lines, "quick like Mayweather's hooks to Hatton"

75,000 of the purchase have allegedly came from the same credit card (rumored to be his dad's). Too bad. Nice kid, decent rapper.

Seems like the 75k purchases by one user was nothing more than a rumor. jumptheturnstyle (the site that started? the rumor) retracted their statement and issued an apology today. Interesting development since no one seems to have heard of Sam Adams before this week.

I'm glad it's been proven false. He's a nice kid and good rapper. Would it surprise anyone if it was his camp that leaked that rumor for pub?
