Chile has had 56 aftershocks greater than 5.0 so far.
The news is saying that the ocean gonna be "all funny kine" for a few days at least.
We've got an extremely low tide, moon cycle stuff. The siren keeps going off, one more at eleven am.
They got my wife to fill up the bath tub with water so we'll be able to flush the toilet. The streets are all shut down in Waikiki.
Shit is starting to get tense.
Exciting. Like a fucking root canal.

Yeah, so far this has been like watching the Tyson-Holyfield fights, before the biting. Remember, Holyfield kept grabbing him and holding him for like 40 seconds at a time, then he'd get in a few little body shots. That was the fight. Stupid.

So I live on the coast on a south facing beach, and was just down on the cliff to see if anything would show up. Nothing major, there was a noticeable drawdown, and then a wave that washed further up. I will just imagine that was it, as I left because of the rain.

But I got back, and am watching TV and see that they are showing Hawaii and people are standing at the beach. There is even someone out surfing. I say this will all seriousness, I hope that if the tsunami comes, they get sucked out to sea and drown. They honestly deserve it. You don't fuck with nature, and maybe they will serve as a warning to others.

I take a lot of chances, except with nature. I don't trust it because mother nature is cunt.

Yes, how dare mother nature not provide us a magnificent enough spectacle to view from the comfort of our couches on our laptops!

I hope you aren't referring to my post. Edit. You aren't. Smarty Pants.

I live in a place where just 2 weeks ago we had several people swept out to sea and 7 people taken to hospitals with broken bones after a rogue wave at a surf contest. Yet people are going out to the edge of the water.

Notice we posted at pretty much the same time, I was referring to the posts directly above yours . I knew I should have quoted once I saw the somebody posted comment, but I was responding to a couple of different ones about the livefeed. And in case you didn't catch it, the tone was obviously sarcastic.

    Sarcastic queen you are.

The scene from Hilo is pretty cool. The water just started being sucked out fast.

Working fine for me - but here's a live feed (with news commentary) from Hawaii News Now:

Apparently California is beginning to get hit as well.

    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.knx1070.com/Tsunami-Has-Mild-Impact-in-SoCal/6458175" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.knx1070.com/Tsunami-Has-Mild ... al/6458175</a>

The article says "tsunami fans on the Santa Monica Pier are waiting for impact".

CNN says people in Hawaii are starting to hit the beaches again.

Any chance of this thing dissipating during its 6000 mile trip across the Pacific? Granted it did hit Cali in a very minor way, how much speed, if any, will it have when it hits the islands?

Seems like everything is fine. The only thing is that water levels are oscillating quite heavily, but no real damage or danger. Bullet dodged.

Not to go all "what an age we live in!" on ya'll, but how crazy is it that in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Chile we can get news of the quake (and by corollary an approaching tsunami) to Hawaii faster than the shockwave of the earthquake itself can.

What I want to know is why we keep using our earthquake weapon on countries that can't fight back. Hey N. Korea, you guys are next.

The only tsunami going on is the one in my mind caused by the extreme overflow of beers last night, and the outrageous number of calls I've gotten from family and friends on the mainland.

I feel like hungover poo, and don't like God's tactics, throwing fake attacks at us and shit. He's just conditioning us for the big one.
