Michael Madsen is the unsung indies hero of 90’s movies. An awesome actor who only got good roles from seemingly one director— Tarantino— who used him so well. I wish his show “Vengeance Inc.” did better. It was an amazing idea for a show, perfect for Madsen, that was executed poorly.
As someone who is pretty into mob history, he did a really good job of playing Sonny Black in Donnie Branco. The story was inaccurate, but his portrayal was well-done.
Word, that was perfect casting— he was tough, mean and a total control freak in that movie. One of the most underrated mob films ever,
Sad the residuals for that show evaporated after Cosbys downfall. Most of the other stars had their main income streams fall off.
No kidding. It was done right too but I am AMAZED that he made it this long. There have been a lot of rock stars over the years who have partied hard, who have gone hard in the paint— none of them compared to how hard Ozzy went, putting the likes of Motley Crue and Steve Earle to absolute shame. That said, Black Sabbath is one of the best bands ever, the influence they have over so many artists that I love over the years is so wide-ranging— everyone from Tool to Metallica to the darkest black metal bands owe their success to Black Sabbath.
Supposedly Ozzy had that Neanderthal DNA that made him impervious to the effects of all the alcohol and drugs. It's sad to see him only make it to about the average life expectancy. I really thought that he had another decade left in him, but it was a great run. May he RIP.
Jack Black did a fantastic tribute of Mr Crowley. Tom Morello’s kid on guitar nailed Randy note for note. Not hard to tell it’s Tom’s kid with that guitar placement. lol
