Lets do this. Trout stayed, Harper left. Spring training is coming to a close and I wanna go see some games soon.
What the damn hell? How does 99 mph fastball tail away like that? That's more than Rivera's cutter used to move. First video in the linked article . . . https://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2019/4/4/18295163/jose-alvarado-pitch-99-mph-movement-video-rays-mlb
What will it take to fire Ron Kulpa? You have the easiest officiating job in all of the major sports, you whiney blind asshole. Shut up and do your goddamn job properly.
Haven’t you heard? He can do whatever he wants. The Red Sox finally end this shitshow of a road trip. One the plus side, they didn’t get swept in any series.
Puig was bout fight the entire Pirates roster. I didn’t realize he was so large. That guy is huge. Also. Mike goddamn Trout. What a talent. I want to hate him and i can’t.
If you're down for a little fun . . . or just as likely, a fizzle to nothing . . . tune in to the Braves Marlins game at 7 ish tonight. Jose Ureña is starting for the Marlins tonight, against the Braves, for the first time since last year's idiocy against Acuña. Last year, the Braves played the Marlins in a 4-game set. In the first 3 games, Acuña led off the game with a home run. Not a show up, bat flip, stare down - just hit 3 home runs. The next game, Ureña hit him with the first pitch of the game, on his elbow.
49 games in and this team is unbelievable. They're pounding the absolute shit out of the ball and their pitching has been surprisingly decent. They just need to get another bullpen arm and either trade for Bumgarner or sign Keuchel and they'll be pretty set for a strong championship run. Of course, being the Twins, I don't expect them to ever consider making a splash move because ownership is still cheap, but the moves are there for the making.
Did you guys see the foul ball that Almora hit into the stands that hit that little girl? Watching Almora crying in the arms of that security guard in the next inning was just brutal. Cubs-Astros game yesterday. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/chicag...down-when-his-foul-ball-hits-4-year-old-girl/
I do feel bad for the little girl but ffs come on parents if you are sitting in that area pay attention.
Last year I had to block a foul tip from Jackie Bradley Jr, he sliced it RIGHT at my daughters face. It happens so goddamn fast if you’re looking away in the slightest you can’t move in time. I ended up dislocating my thumb and grossing everybody out around us. Worth it. Some other little shit got the ball, though.
Love me some baseball . . . I went to Fenway for the first time Friday night. It was great, even if Tampa Bay won. I went to Cooperstown and the HoF for the first time on Saturday. I spent most of the day in the HoF and it wasn't long enough. I went to Megabank Park Sunday afternoon, to watch the Reds beat the Phillies, which was nice. Going to the Braves-Pirates game tonight . . . to see the first-place Braves. Yes, it's tied for first and it may not last, but it's nice to see. Acuña's grand slam last night was great, but watch the catch by the fan at the end, and his reaction. Worth it. https://cuts.diamond.mlb.com/FORGE/...2-csvm-diamondx64-asset_1280x720_59_4000K.mp4
Going to see Jays/Royal Sunday. Should be a nice, empty stadium even for Canada Day weekend I’m hoping. You know.....Since they both suck. Speaking of suck, you guys need to see this. This guy and his channel already puts together awesome MLB breakdowns, here is a real find. Finnish Baseball. This isn’t a prank:
Sure is fun watching the Braves with a 6 game lead in the East. I don't know if they have what it takes to go deep in the playoffs, though, if they get there. The HR derby tonight should be a treat. With all the up-close mics and cameras they have, it should be fun. The ball really does sound different coming off Acuña's bat, and Vlad Jr and Alonso have the 1&2 highest exit velocity numbers this year. It might be boring after the first round, but there will be some serious bombs hit.
