A certain site owner was kind enough to point out that I have been remiss in my duties. Here is the place for all your predictions for who kicks the bucket this year. Also, I’ve added a poll with my guesses.
As I said in the other thread, my sad bet is on John McCain. The survival rate is just so low for that. He had the type of cancerous brain tumor the doctors were worried I had, and for a glioblastoma you're looking at 12-18 months with a 20% survival rate tops. And that's assuming you're healthy, strong (physically and emotionally) and young to begin with. Of course, survival rates drop off a cliff as you age.... the odds are not in his favor. Also wouldn't surprise me to see several of the higher profile accused "#metoo" people off themselves. Sadly right now twitter is our judge and jury. It's already happened once. I'm looking at Louis CK specifically as the one who offs himself and then twitter introspects for a little bit before it goes back to propping up Oprah 2020. Eric Clapton isn't looking good. And just for an off the wall bet, I say John Fogerty (of CCR) will join his brother with the spirit in the sky.
I'd be shocked if Louis killed himself. He confirmed that the allegations were true, has shown some understanding of why the situation was fucked up, and he's already well into producing his own content without a ton of outside help. He's still got the means with which to do what he loves, and his transgressions were mild in comparison to most. FOCUS: Stan Lee, especially given the stress of the fuckery around his estate as of late.
Louis will be back. Trust. While what he did was gross, I don’t think it rose to the level of sexual assault. And when more shit comes out about more famous people, it will all but be forgotten. Several prominent comedians have expressed similar sentiments as well. A lot of people know comedians have some dark shit in their personalities.
We'll take this discussion to the serious thread if you want to go further but on the spectrum of bad behavior, I'd put Louis' closer to Harvey than to Franken.
Whoa. You had a brain tumor? McCain should've already died several times, including in that POW camp. I don't know if this will do him in. Wille Nelson Jimmy Carter Billy Graham Doris Day
Woah... old people are going to die?!? I think some big YouTube star is going to off themselves. Like this Jake Paul idiot, they are going to be young, stupid, have millions of followers, make stupid amounts of money, and are going to do something really stupid that most young and stupid people would do... but it will ruin their entire life, as YouTube will can them as a result, and they will go from having it all to having nothing, and with no marketable skill to fall back on. They will be too young and immature to handle it, and will take themselves out... part of me thinks they'll live stream it. Live by the YouTube channel, die by the YouTube channel. And speaking of pre-YouTube killing-themselves... Bam Margera. Dude is relapsing pretty hard, and I think it's going to be terminal this year.
Bam’s in rehab, and I’d bet my fake money on the stranger things kids. I am voting ROTN, he’ll die from some awesome Texas red neck death and I’ll salute him. Shine on you crazy ass.
Dan Gurney dead at 86. I saw him win at my first Auto race in 1970 at Sears Point Raceway. I have lost all my rock stars over the last two years, I guess it will be time to start losing my racing stars. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/versatile-racing-legend-dan-gurney-002122595.html
Speaking of Sears, they died in Canada yesterday. For good. Finally. Until they come back again, Jason-like.
Dolores O'Riordan, Cranberries lead singer, dead at 46 http://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainment/obit-oriordan-dolores-1.4487972
I used to play the hell out of Gran Turismo, and they were featured heavily on the in-game soundtrack. Shitty loss of talent, for sure.
Never mind... it was the Cardigans I was thinking of... them and Garbage, not the Cranberries. Still, she was very talented, and will be a loss.
This is pretty sad news. He was up there with Marc Donahue as being a great engineer/driver... so much so that one of his best inventions can be found on just about every race car out there; the Gurney Flap. If you ever see a spoiler with a little lip on the trailing edge, that's a Gurney Flap. Ours were adjustable on our cars... you can slide it out and replace it with one of a different size, and it made a huge difference to performance of the spoiler. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gurney_flap
