After being home sick since Wednesday afternoon, I came to realize that not only does Daytime TV suck a big one (seriously, if I had to watch that pile of pisscrap daily I'd off myself, The View, The Chew, The Talk, Kelly&Michael AHHHHH!!!!), every single commercial break had at least one holiday ad. Oh and *raisesglass*
I'm watching Spring Breakers. I sincerely can't tell if they're being ironic or not. Incredibly low-concept movie, tons of mindless nudity... but it's shot like an art movie, filled with light filters and ennui. And they're 19 year old college students who live somewhere in the southern U.S. and they go to Florida for spring break and they're so elated that they can finally escape the drudgery of reality and finally visit a different part of the world. I guess what I'm saying is, I don't want to live in a world where someone makes this movie and actually means it.
Its made by the guy who directed Gummo, the grimiest movie ever. Be thankful it was at least watchable.
Re: 2013 Vetrans Day WDT NSFW I used to watch Airwolf when I went over to my Grandma's after school. Let me tell you, to a 9 year old kid, nothing in the world could even approach the awsome coolness that was Airwolf. I haven't seen that show in 25 years, yet I can still remember the theme song and still find myself whistling it every once in awhile.
So I'm at the laundromat (because that's what the cool kids do on Friday night) and I'm watching this woman fold a ton of laundry while her two kids (probably about 11 and 13) sit and play on their phones, having some pretty serious "kids these days" kind of thoughts. By the time I was that age I was doing my own laundry, and while much of it never got folded, that was on me. I have half a mind to go up and tell them to be useful, but me vague sense of propriety and social boundaries is holding me back.
