    Wow. Just....wow.

I hope Nathan Horton is OK. Those are the kind of hits that end careers.

This power play futility is driving me nuts. Fucking Roberto Luongo. This is insane.

Watching that made my tummy turn. I feel sick.

You know he was knocked right the fuck out from the way his arms was suspended upright, in mid air.

Dana White's got a call into Rome's agent as we speak.

    Fuuuuuuuuuck.

At least he's in the hospital and can move/feel all of his extremities.

So how long before it's a one-on-one with the goalies?

Not going to be many players left soon...

Anyone else feel that the punishment was an overreaction? The hit, IMO, was a good clean hard one. Perhaps a bit late, but the guy had possession of the puck and skated across the blue line with his head down not paying attention. That's the FIRST thing they teach little three-year-olds learning to skate: keep your head up. I think his injury was due more to him not protecting himself than any maliciousness on the Canuck's part.

It was a late hit. It was a blind side hit. He left his feet. His elbow was down.

1/4 aint bad. As for too severe a punishment? I'm not in the business of dealing out punishments, and they all seem completely random and arbitrary anyway, so it's hard to say. PTI thought it was probably too severe and that they were making up for not suspending the biter.

What hit did you watch? He caught Horton squarely in the chest and shoulder on a north/south play. The fact that Horton had his head turned and wasn't looking doesn't make it a blind-side hit.

The hit was late and he did leave his feet though, which I didn't realize when I first saw it. For that, I think a game or two at most would have been appropriate. I think PTI nailed it by saying this was also making up for not suspending Burrows. Then again consistency in suspensions has never been anywhere close to the NHL's strong point, so who really knows.

You're right it wasn't. I was just going based on everything I was reading the day after. It seems everyone was calling it a blind side hit except the NHL offices themselves.

I think it was a bit of an overreaction, personally.

More of a topic of discussion, I think, was Don Cherry's idea that if a team loses a player for the rest of a game, like in this case, they should have been allowed to dress an alternate.

    Makes sense to me.

Who the fuck is this guy, and what did he do with Roberto Luongo? Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

No shit. I hate guys like me.

But if they're going to play well enough to get me interested and watching, then they'd better perform better than they did last night.

See? Bandwagonning and self-entitlement... I'm the full package.

Me too. Pretty ridiculous. I hate diving, regardless of which team is doing it.

Oh well, time to head back to Boston and take an 11-0 butt fucking before coming back to Vancouver to work hard for a one goal cup-winning victory! Only one more quick hop off and back on the bandwagon for Nettdata!

HOLY FUCK ONE WIN LEFT!!! Hopefully Chara will forget to take his ogre medication and eat Tim Thomas' bones before game 6. That'd make things a lot easier.

Fuck that... we're going to take it in Boston.

We're going to gut them in their own house.

    I have faith.

Nothing makes me happier than 18 000 Boston fans watching a team from Canada cart out the cup on their ice. Get 'er done/

Robert Luongo sure talks a lot for someone who has been outplayed this series.

I love how so far in the first 5 minutes of the game, they've played 2 Canadian tunes.

RUSH's Tom Sawyer for the win.

What a circus of a series. I guess this was the best away game for the Canucks so far, but that in itself is pretty fucking depressing. I don't even want to count the overall score for the series so far.

And how fucking cruel was it that the second quick goal in the third turned out to be a post?! That gave me hope! For about 30 seconds, in my mind, the 'Nucks were back in it. Oh well.

Everything before this means nothing; now it's one game*, winner takes all.

    *Home game, mutherfuckers!
