Back on to football not ball busting. We all have teams we like and teams we hate, same goes for players whether that's for their abilites, or a lack thereof, on the field. Shoo now.

    Tebow's 4 preseason games:

Week 1: 6/7, 91 yards, no TDs, no INTS, 15 yards rushing

Week 2: 1/2, 10 yards, no TDs, no INTs, 7 yards rushing

Week 3: 6/11, 93 yards, no TDs, no INTs, 25 yards rushing

Week 4: 7/11, 116 yards, one TD, no INTs, 8 yards rushing

Overall: 20/31, 320 yards, one TD, no INTs, 55 yards rushing

    He's so inaccurate.

I agree, of all the teams not named the "Patriots" the Packers have the best chance of repeating. I don't think they will, just because the odds are always against the Superbowl winner in even making the playoffs the next year. I think Green Bay will make the playoffs, but odds say they don't repeat.

I am baffled at the media blowing Michael Vick and Cam Newton. I have a better chance of winning a Superbowl than either of these two. Are they phenomenal athletes? Absolutely. Are they QB's that can lead a team to the Superbowl? Absolutely not. I can not fathom why teams are still entranced with the idea of a running QB. It works well in college. It does not work well in the NFL. Who are the most successful QB's in the NFL over the past two decades? That's right, pocket passers. Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Manning, Young, Elway (Both Elway and Young were good scramblers, but they could both actually throw the ball really really well, whereas neither Vick nor Newton are anything but slightly below average in this regard). BUT WAIT, you scream, VICK HAD A CAREER YEAR LAST YEAR. Yes, he did. His accuracy for his career is lower than Donovan McNabb's (and boy, let me tell you as a Philly resident how often I had to hear that we'd never win a superbowl with McNabb because he's inaccurate, but those same fans say in the same breath "But Vick will win us one!!!!" Not a fucking chance. And oh, yeah, the Eagles defense blows. I'd be surprised if they make the playoffs, and the only reason I see them making it is because the Skins, Giants, and Cowboys are going to suck too. The dominance of the NFC East is over.

Cam Newton will be fun to watch for a season or two, assuming he doesn't have a season ending injury in the first three games because he realizes he can't throw in the NFL and tries to win by running.

And before you get bent out of shape, I'm a Broncos fan. I watched (and cheered) when they got rid of Shanahan, only to hire the Boy Blunder who got rid of their two best offensive weapons, only to get Orton and Tebow? Jesus, I miss Elway.

How much of that was against the first team defense? I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Preseason doesn't mean a damn thing.

Not to mention that teams aren't scheming against him, they are simply trying to find out who can play at the NFL level

You're right, it doesn't. But it just shows that, while he's rough, he's nowhere near as rough as he's made out to be. He certainly outperformed Quinn. And none of it against first string, but our depth is horrible. Especially on the line, he's been running for his life the whole time. Just watch last night's game and you'll see.

I'm a Patriots fan. I'm not optimistic about this year. We still don't have a number 1 receiver or someone that scares their QB. The Lawfirm is love, but we don't have the offense to backoff the defense enough for him to do what he do. Our best WRs might actually be our TEs and Welker. I don't know how I feel about 85. I just don't know.

And the Bears are going to get assraped this year. Fucking assraped. They got 19m in fucking cap space, they let go of their starting center (their O-line was shit besides him) and they're playing hardball with their next generation linebacker. What the fuck are they doing? Did I mention Roy Williams has ass lube on his fingers and can't hold onto shit? My friends are in a deep denial saying they'll win at least 9 games. Thank god for them Stafford is going to be injured every 2 games. I know it was pre-season, but that was a calculated, mechanical raping of the Patriots.

Look, personally, I'm neutral on the whole fiasco. I could care less. But to parrot the commentators, this is the most talked about backup QB fucking ever, and I'm tired of it.

I read an article that Chicago was 7-3 in games decided by a touchdown or less. One of the losses was against Green Bay in a game that didn't matter. When I think "regression to the mean" Chicago's season is going to be a prime example. I can't believe they let Kreutz walk. All he's done is anchor that line for what, a decade?

Next generation seems like a generous term for a linebacker who turns 31 years old in November.

And Village Idiot, it's a bit skewed when you define "running quarterback" by removing the pick of the litter. "Running quarterbacks suck, except for Elway, or Young, or Vick's best season...." Or "Michael Vick is incredibly inaccurate! Except for last season, where he completed 62.6% of his passes, but that doesn't count!"

If you look at the names he used and think about it a bit, you can see that he is using "running quarterback" as a euphemism for something else. Never mind that McNabb in his prime actually ran quite a bit less than Elway or Young did.

As for the Vick-McNabb comparison, McNabb was never a very good fit for the West Coast system. He seemed like a perfect fit for Shannahan's offense, but non-football stuff fucked that up. Vick's percentages were low because he had pretty shitty players around him and he would run instead of checking down. From the few Eagles games I saw last year, Vick is completely capable of putting the ball exactly where he wants it to go. If anything, that 62.6% number should be higher because the Eagles had a lot of drops last year.

Well he's going to last 2-3 more years than Urlacher. I didn't know he was that damn old. Well nevermind. Still shouldn't have cut him with money on the table and a fucked offensive line/offense.

Thoughts? Predictions? All I can say is I have $20 in Vegas for the Chargers to win it all cause I have a 14 year old son that is a Chargers fan. It was 12-1 odds for anyone interested. I also put $20 for the Niners to win it all cause it was 45-1 and fuck it the niners won it all with worse odds in 1981. I do not think the niners can win it, but I need some reason to watch them on Sundays. Really though I think it is going to be real hard to think the Packers and the Patriots will not be there in the end.

I'm a Patriots fan and I find it funny that no one has mentioned the Jets being there even though they've gotten damn close twice. They also have the formula and ingredients to beat the Patriots. Since the Patriots don't have WRs that can beat the Jet corners, I don't know how they're going to do much on offense against the Jets unless the get pick six, fumble recoveries for 6, or just go 3WR, 2TE pass plays. As Simmons says "Ochocinco hasn't beaten a DB in 3 years." He's sure as hell not beating Revis or Cromartie (or any of his 20 kids.) Anyone else besides the Steelers, the Patriots can outcoach to offset their lack of speed. But the Jets and Steelers can hold the Patriots down for sure.

I think you're overplaying the Patriots' lack of WR depth. In 2006, they went all the way to the AFC Conference game, losing just 38-34 after a Marlin Jackson INT.

Their top receivers that year? Reche Caldwell and Jabbar Gaffney. Even against Revis and Cromartie, I highly doubt Belichick won't find a way to coach around them.

Ochocinco and Welker bothers me less than the lack of a speedy #3 receiver. Ochocinco, Branch, Welker....these dudes are old. I'm confused by their cuts. Brandon Tate seemed to have some promise and speed.

Also, while I understand what the complaints about Merriweather are (he deserved neither of those Pro Bowls), it's not like they had a better replacement lined up. Who the fuck is Sergio Brown?

Personally, I like the Jets, with NE, Pittsburgh, and San Diego all being tied for second. Baltimore and Indy will probably get into the playoffs, but I don't see either as a Super Bowl threat. I'm expecting GB-Philadephia in the NFC Championship, and could see it going either way. If I had to choose one for champ, I guess it'd be Green Bay, but their advantage over Philly, NE, NYJ, Pitt, and SD is slim.

There is a rumor going around that Manning needs a second surgery. If true it it sucks to be a colts fan.

To put some perspective on how durable he's been, the last person other than Peyton to start under center is currently the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers.
