Local radio is reporting that the Rangers and Darvish inked a deal, and there's speculation a deal with Darvish and Fielder will be announced at 4 p.m.

I'm somewhat squee'ing at the idea.

Are there any Reds fans here who thanked the based BBWAA for electing Barry Larkin to the Hall?

That was a question, not a rallying cry. I'm a Sox fan.

That said, the fact that Bagwell isn't in by now is beyond stupid. I can't wait to see the conniption fit the writers have next year with Clemens, Bonds and Sosa. We might actually see nobody get elected.

The Mariners have traded a potential ace for a catcher who can't catch but can apparently rake. Of course, he's moving to a park where hitting goes to die. And a couple of mediocre Japanese players because Ichiro needs somebody to talk to. This is the year the Mariners and their prospects either turn into the out of nowhere Rays or power bottom A's.

So this is what it must have felt like being an Orioles fan during the Yankee/Sox arms race of the 2000's.

The least-noticed first game in MLB history? I'm guessing so.

Way to build off a great post-season, Bud.
