I agree. Spanberger should have immediately distanced herself from Jay Jones, and maybe the race between her and Sears wouldn't have even been close. I'm literally one of the people in the middle, that either side has to earn my vote. Through their behavior, past and present, and how they align with what I think is best for this country. To run your campaign against a guy who both left office nearly a decade ago, and is still the most popular political figure in the country? That's the target you want to go after?
