I went to one of the worst "restaurants" of my life in Cave City, KY because my friend thought it looked kitschy or something. The Cracker Barrel we ate at the following morning felt like a michelin star dining experience. The waitress looked clean and brought us refills on coffee. Our food came out at the same time and was edible. It was beautiful. In other news, the University of Michigan is led by cowards and caved to federal pressure and stopped providing gender affirming care to anyone under the age of 19. Our office is getting swamped with calls from terrified parents of trans teenagers who are afraid for their mental health if they lose access to care and hormones. So that's the chapter of dystopian hellscape I'm on this week.

Wild ass conspiracy theories are thinking that RFK is going to outlaw vaccines soon. He also made a statement that they are going to release the info on what causes vaccines. My fuzzy brain is putting 2 and 2 together and thinking that he's going to say "vaccines cause autism, ergo we need to ban all vaccines", and that info was relayed to the head of CDC and she said "oh hell no" as did her senior staff. As far as conspiracy theories go, it seems pretty plausible.

I don't think he's going to move that fast. I think it'll start with the research cuts to mRNA vaccines, which he's already done. Then this upcoming flu season he's going to refuse approval for a new COVID vaccine, based on aforementioned animus to mRNA. Over time he'll whittle down the recommended vaccine schedule for children. As for autism, my money is that he blames "environmental" factors and then tries to leverage it to go after his bugbears of seed oils, fluoride, and various food preservatives and dyes.
