Y'all, it's hot as balls out there. Weather hot enough to cook an eggs on the street. Speaking of which, I wonder if the fetal ducks are going to survive in their shells. I guess we will find out in another week or so... I've got some mint in the garden ready to be turned into mojitos. Do you like any particular fruit mojito? Family is visiting soon and many a mojito shall be made. Happy Friday idiots! Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.
Broody momma has been incubating for 20 or 21 days out of 28. I candled them and saw normal development yesterday. She's been off the nest quite a bit because she can tell it is hot. I'm just letting her do her thing.
Nothing but rain here for the next 12 days. Montreal is absolutely off it’s ass after last night: The refs and the Golden Knights worked so hard to defeat the Habs, but Bettman’s cash babies lose in the end anyways. Carey Price finally gets what he deserves.
Bettman is also the rocket scientist who allowed a man with no money to buy the Islanders. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Spano
I'm with you on that. The idea of eating an almost fully formed duck fetus makes me nauseous just thinking about it.
Speaking of nauseous, I’m suffering some ill effects from an undercooked omelette I was served this morning. On top of that I had to clean our beach for a party we’re hosting for a high school charity event. Cleaning the beach involved scooping about 10 pounds of goose shit, picking up so many feathers I think one goose exploded, and picking up a rotting deer leg ( fawn, so cute) I found in the grass. Im not feeling so great right now.
Looks like you're going to have it worse than me in the upcoming week. We're only going to be 107-110 this coming week. But at least you'll somewhat cool off at night, so count your blessings. Still looking for an old farm house, I did find another one in MN I like. Built in 1905, 4.3 acres with a creek (And the house even has a fish cleaning station!) . I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger on it just yet...What kind of fish do they have in creeks like this in MN? Brookies?
Seattle and Portland are set to break record temperatures this weekend. It got too hot to ride the bike here last week (107). Fuck this weather.
I have to put "Don't Go To Wegman's Hungry" up there with advice like "treat all guns as loaded" and "don't stick your dick in crazy". In other news, I have enough food to last the winter, and I apparently tried to buy a lifetime supply of some ingredients.
Yeah, we have big temp swings here normally. Spring plantings can be challenging to time because it'll be like 75 or 80 during the day but close to freezing at night. The cool off factor is the only thing making the heat tolerable. I can get outside in the morning at least and not be dying. It's not below 90 til about 9 or 10pm.
I keep checking the weather and it keeps getting predicted with higher temps. Fuck. Might need to take the eggs inside after all....
While we have 2 weeks of shitty heat and rain coming, I figured now would be a perfect time to reseed the fuck out of the lawns. Just went through a 50 lbs bag of grass seed, some fertilizer, and a bunch of top soil and absolutely pancaked the lawns with a seed filled slurry. If THIS doesn't make that fucking grass grow, I give up... pull it all up and call the concrete company. Mind you, it would be kind of fun to put one of those swim pads in the front yard instead of a lawn... just a big dancing sprinkler setup.
