This weekend is father's day. Happy weekend to all you mother makers out there. This is the "biggest romantic fiction on trend now." I read up on the history of the holiday. It originated in the US, didja know? Spoiler Father’s Day, in the United States, holiday (third Sunday in June) to honour fathers. Credit for originating the holiday is generally given to Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington, whose father, a Civil War veteran, raised her and her five siblings after their mother died in childbirth. She is said to have had the idea in 1909 while listening to a sermon on Mother’s Day, which at the time was becoming established as a holiday. Local religious leaders supported the idea, and the first Father’s Day was celebrated on June 19, 1910, the month of the birthday of Dodd’s father. In 1924 U.S. Pres. Calvin Coolidge gave his support to the observance, and in 1966 Pres. Lyndon B. Johnson issued a proclamation that recognized the day. It became a national holiday in 1972, when Pres. Richard Nixon signed legislation designating the third Sunday of June as Father’s Day. Father's Day is celebrated on Sunday, June 19, 2022, in most countries. Neato. This year I will make hubs an ice cream cake to celebrate. I was looking at a personalized gift on Etsy last week but was too late to get it on time, so they idea will get rolled over to next year. Visiting my parents in the Appalachia part of North Carolina. Going fly fishing with my step dad for Father’s Day. He’s never gone before and is wanting to get into it now that he hit 70 and wants to slow down.
This Father’s Day is going to be a bit melancholy for me. My daughter, our only child, graduated high school yesterday and will soon be off to college. We are very close and still spend alot of time together. I have to admit I’m having a hard time dealing with this. But for Father’s Day we are taking a step back in time and going to the Bronx Zoo, like we did when she was much younger. The best part is how excited she is about it. I’m looking forward to it.

You know, the thought never even occured to me to crop it. The black bars didn't bother me. I just cropped it and the filesize is larger now?? I give up. Imgur on the PC, black bars on the phone it shall stay.
I have the Image Size free app on my phone specifically so that I can re-size pics to post on here. Obviously I don’t use it much but I recommend it.
iPhone just lets me select small, medium, large or original size when I upload to here. Tells me the file size along with it. Figure that’s good enough.
