Friday, July 30th National Father-in-Law Day Hoo boy. Let's hear about yours. Dish, girl! National System Administrator Appreciation Day– Last Friday in July Happy Day to @Nettdata and @Binary . @Clutch are you in the club? Here are your e-flowers for probably doing such a great job. National Get Gnarly Day On the calendar site, they suggest that getting gnarly is "an opportunity to embrace new ideas and toss out old ways." Today, or this weekend if I don't have time, I am going to notch a stick and go worm grunting. I just learned about this technique today and am dying to try it. I'm not going fishing or anything, just wanna see how many worms I can get to come out of the garden. Are you getting gnarly this weekend? Happy weekend, idiots. We have another little heat wave happening with a high of 110 today. Stay cool and be good.
I'm not, really... I used to be, long time ago, and like to think that I can still get in a fuck shit up a bit, but really I leave that stuff up to others these days. In other, better news, looks like Bob O is on the mend:
You don’t need a notched stick. Just grab a shovel, stick it in the ground and wiggle it back and forth. The vibrations drive the worms up out of the ground. It works even better if you are wiggling the shovel against a rock. Heck, pulling weeds scares the worms up here. We don’t do fathers-in-law here. I’ve never had one- he died before my wife and I started dating. My wife had one briefly, but my father died not even 5 years after we were married. Needless to say we don’t do grandpas either. That goes way back on both sides.
There was some NYT article on China’s Olympics strategy a few days ago. They target events that have low competition so they can win as many medals as possible just to brag about their medal count.
No, I’ve done it. I’ll take a video this weekend and show you. Why wouldn’t you trust something that some guy (as far as you know) tells you on the interwebs?
When I mow the more damp sections of my yard with the push mower, the little bastards practically shoot out of the ground and then try to slither away to avoid the mower. It's really counterintuitive when you think about it, go deeper for God's sake. Cracks me up all the time. If someone needed worms for fishing they'd have a bonanza following behind.
Every time I see the word “gnarly” I think about the movie Jackass, steve-o in particular. The new movie is coming out in a month or two I think? Haven’t been this excited for a movie since jackass 3D came out
A few years ago I committed to Black and Decker cordless tools and batteries because I already had a cordless weed whacker that used those batteries, I don't use most of the tools often enough to warrant a better brand, the drill/circular saw/reciprocating saw combo was half off on black Friday, and because they were sold in a ton of stores. Fast forward to today, and it looks like Stanley Black and Decker has more or less abandoned the brand in favor of Craftsman for their consumer line. The real kick in the balls is that the tools and batteries are almost identical, but apparently they switched the polarity on the batteries to make them incompatible.
I am on fucking fire. These jalapenos are hot after the heat wave. I made jalapeno poppers and I'm done at 2. Even my ears are tingling.
make sure you wash your hands THOROUGHLY before using the bathroom I may or may not have set my balls on fire doing that. May or may not have been more than once too
The results are in - nothing. I tried it at several spots in the garden and yard, some with a bunch of worm castings around the area. Not a single worm. I have accomplished this before. I’ll chalk it up to performance anxiety and bad luck.
I’m not sure I realized how fed up I was with my current job/career until my daughter recently told me she wants to follow a similar path. I feel like I’m having a panic attack- consulting can be lucrative but it can also be a fucking nightmare, and I speak from over 30 years experience.
why the fuck is there a transgender weightlifter in the olympics? A man who decided he was a woman, but is still physically a man, is absolutely not on the same playing field as the other women competitors. Is this something we can all agree on or does this more of a serious thread thing? Like I'm just thinking, from the perspective of all the other females out there doing the snatch (heh), this is biological cheating correct? He/she trains different. That's why there's different classes, one for men and one for women/
