Season 3 fired up last night. There's been a fair bit of discussion over the series, figured I'd spin up a new thread. Anyone else catch the season opener?
I'll admit right up front, I'm a huge fan of the books. Last night's episode was, I feel, a solid 6.5/10, and kind of set up the direction for this season, I think. Nothing really new and exciting, really. The only rather "meh" part I found was Spoiler them getting off the ship. It seemed like a lot of mediocre action and suspense in trying to get away from the nasty incoming missiles. In the end, I didn't find that part all that exciting or new... pretty contrived and cliched, that was done (I suspect) to re-assert Bobbie Draper as a bad-ass (even though she apparently had her ass handed to her by stepping on a door-frame... really?) as well as let some CGI guys live out their "I can do an Iron Man suit scene too!" fantasies. Still, I'm looking forward to tuning in next week.
Wow, dead thread... but time to have it come back to life. Just realized that the first three episodes of Season 5 drop tonight. I really do quite like this series. https://www.space.com/the-expanse-season-5-amazon-prime-video-premiere Sounds like Season 6 is ordered, but will be the last.
There is going to be a season 6 that is supposed to take us to the book where there is a big spoiler between it and the next one.
The decision to drop the first three episodes was genius. Week to week I don't think the rocks plummeting to earth were going to build up in the same way that a a quick 3 hour watch allowed for. Hopefully seasons 7,8,9 get picked up in the future.
Spoiler: EP 5 I really hope they explain how the belters where able to afford to buy multiple martian gun ships. I get buying some missiles/pdc/ammo/etc here or there. But whole fucking ships? That is a lot of fucking money.
Watched the last episode last night. Spoiler: final ep So a rogue hard core military faction that wanted to start out pure was helping the belters, season 6 looks like it is going to be securing the gate and trying to find which worm holes they went through.
I was very upset about the decision to kill off who they did in the last episode. They were probably my favorite character. Then I did a search and found out why. I understand the decision but I still hate it.
I haven't read on how many accusations there were, but sometimes it just seems there is no innocent until proven guilty, which i know doesn't apply to private companies.
