well mythbusters just let go over half of their cast. now is it just adam and jamie. i don't know how i feel about this but i think it will be good. the other three should have no problems finding work on any lets make it explode themed show. nettdata edit: focus: what's your thought on the break-up of the show. alt-focus: what are your favourite myths or moments from the show.
i used to really, really enjoy this show. over the past few years they started over-editing it so that it was all "before the break" and "after the break" and recaps, and content was next to nothing. and they've been running out of ideas for a long time. i think the show has gone a fair bit past its prime, but hasn't really gone off the rails totally, and it's reasonable for them to finish it. if they have, in fact, finished. it'll be interesting to see what this "new direction" of the show is, as this could be the jumping of the shark for them. personally, all i want out of this is for grant to spin up a new battlebots series and have kari be a roving reporter in the pits. i've had enough of adam and jamie, for the most part. http://www.zap2it.com/blogs/mythbusters ... on-2014-08
i'm still a bit shocked and expecting this to be an elaborate april fools hoax or something. genuinely wouldn't have predicted that. i'm a bit biased though, i'm a massive fan of myth busters, i've seen every episode multiple times. i tend to binge watch myth busters and top gear when i just want to disengaged brain and be mildly interested in the moving picture box. i've actually got second row center tickets for the behind the myths live show in a week. should make question time interesting.
man, that used to be an awesome show. they got away with blowing shit up good because it was all for science. i enjoy programming that can make learning interesting, even if they did pander towards the end. their viewership has dwindled steadily the past few years. i'm assuming the cuts came when jamie refused to scale back his mustache grooming products. hey, remember that purported photo floating around of adam with his asshole spread wide open? NSFW kari sure is hot as hell.
they have been stretching the myths a bit but man did they have a rock solid formula. one of the last non totally cooked reality shows on any of the "learning" channels. i binge watch it as well on netflix so it might be a while until i see the new format. my commercial tv watching is down to about 15 minutes a week if i can't help it.
i usually dvr mythbusters and as shocking as the news is and as much as i love kari and like the other two, i mostly found myself fast forwarding through their segments because they were fluffy and boring. occasionally they would do something interesting, but for the most part - not. oddly, my all time favorite segment is a kari, tory, grant segment. their reactions are priceless and that high speed footage is a thing of pure beauty.
by far, the best segment of theirs i've seen is when they blew up the cement truck. i think that was the first real "holy crap let's just keep blowing shit up" moment in the series, and from then on they were hooked. you know it was good when the federal agency demolition experts giggled and had a "holy shit" look on their face.
i like when they proved how a person can't hit water from up high. i love movies where the hero falls twenty stories into water and swims away. you'd be smashed to pieces.
they gave her big tits and had her as a waitress at a coffee shop to test the theory that women with bigger boobs get better tips. shockingly they do. Spoiler
this is by far and away my favourite. i got a text from a mate saying to change the channel and had to replay it for about half an hour.
