It almost reached 0°C today. And now it's dropping to about -18°C tonight. Fun times. But in other news, I just drank the last of my Gunpowder Gin, and roasted a kick ass pork shoulder with a killer hot mustard crust. Life is good as I sit here about to dig into some video games for the night. Can't say I'm too interested in the Olympics right now... mom is glued to the opening ceremonies, but I could care less. You guys watching the Olympics? You follow any particular sports? I might check out the hockey, maybe curling... being a true Canadian... but otherwise... meh.
I do find this hilarious though... https://www.cbc.ca/sports/olympics/...bitration-for-sport-appeal-olympics-9.7071179 When you watch the coach on the news, when he says "we did nothing that was against the rules", you know that he knew exactly what he was doing, and it was intentional.
I was barely aware the Olympics start this weekend and up until a few days ago I didn't know who was playing in the Superbowl, or that it is also this weekend.
I am overly proud at how well I backed this trailer in tonight. It was tight fit (for me) and normally when there's no other cars it takes me multiple attempts to get it in straight. Tonight, this was the first try.
Ski events are the only ones I'm usually interest in. I remember the Winter Olympics being a bigger deal when I was a kid. Doesn't feel like it.
We’re watching the opening ceremonies right now. We’ll probably watch quite a bit of it- skiing, speed skating, bobsled, luge, hockey and curling are all fun to watch.
I hate the politics. It sucks that Vance and his wife are there, getting booed, and I hate that the US athletes are getting booed.
I’ve read that the booing occurred, but you couldn’t really hear it on the American broadcast. I’m sure they filtered it out as much as possible.
I was so damned tired yesterday that I was asleep I. My chair by 7:30. At 8:30 I woke up and went to bed. It certainly feels like the Olympics were a bigger deal when I was a kid. I remember it being on our tv all the time, but I can’t help but wonder if that’s because we only had two channels. There wasn’t a whole lot of variety available back then.
Everything was a bigger deal before we had 500 cable channels and a dozen streaming services. Even the biggest events get lost in the noise these days.
America as a whole did it to themselves. It wouldn’t have happened if that fucking piece of shit stayed home. American athletes wouldn’t get booed if their country didn’t do what they did. They should consider themselves lucky to be there. They shouldn’t be allowed to represent their country just like the Russians— invaders don’t deserve to compete.
I loved the race of the composers, it was like the 7th inning stretch at your local minor league stadium
