There are a lot of dumb people doing dumb things in the NFL, but it's pretty next-level to be the best jump ball receiver on a football team, and during a game-winning hail mary attempt, to decide to fight with your DB out of the back of the endzone rather than being anywhere near the ball. https://twitter.com/big_business_/status/1859816256075071825?s=46 https://x.com/LoreLodge/status/1859814587379613753
Honestly, the most stunning part of his tenure was not the fact that they would repeatedly botch high pressure situations, but that he'd then go into press conferences and confidently announce that they did everything right and wouldn't change anything on a do-over. It seemed like such a stunning revelation. Like, yep, I was dumb enough to do that, but also the video evidence absolutely does not dissuade me from believing I did right, and I definitely won't learn from my mistake. Even the most mealy-mouthed coaches who love to to the Coach Speak Dance with the press don't usually go out and simply deny there is any reason to believe they did something wrong.
