feel bad for the fans though. At least the ones who didn't support this signing.
....Cleveland fans??? Those exist?
I feel bad for players like Garrett, and even to some extend Mayfield who do great things in this toilet, only to find themselves stained and flushed.
I couldn't fathom the thinking behind giving Watson that kind of money in light of that kind of scandal, especially when contrasted to the blackball that Kapernick got.
Sure. Lots of fans were put in a position of hating the signing, but not finding it easy to walk away from, potentially, a lifelong support of their team - maybe even support that comprises a chunk of their social or family identity. That sucks.
On the other hand, Browns fans have to be pretty accustomed to hating their team and themselves, so this is probably par for the course.
Did Chris Collinsworth just say "Burrow was injured, Higgins was out with some ribs for awhile"?
There has to be a better way to say that than making it sound like Higgins was settled down at a table with some BBQ sauce.
When the camera panned to Collingsworth at the beginning of the broadcast I looked at the SO and said, "Collingsworth looks like he's stoned." Maybe I was right.
That way of referring to injuries has always annoyed me.
"Mahomes is out with a finger. McCaffrey is out with a toe." WTF is that?
anyone else confused as fuck by what's happening in Atlanta? I didn't touch any of their players in fantasy with a 10 foot pole, and I don't really like or hate them as a team (fuck the city though, especially the airport). I'm just at a complete loss as to what kind of strategy, if any, they're actually employing.
The NFC south is still wide open. If ATL had stuck to being "Baltimore with a weirder accent", ie, prioritizing the run game, stingy defense, and letting a young qb pull some magic off with his feet, (seriously, Mike Vick's tenure in ATL is who set all those records Jackson is intent on breaking), I think they'd be ok.
For some reason, they can't seem to adhere to that script, and their defense is where I'd imagine the problem lies. You can't be a "run 75% of the time" team and expect to win playing from behind. So they find themselves having to depend on a young qb to throw his way to victory, with an o-line and skill player set that's not exactly designed for a pass-heavy offense. They've got some of the best tight ends in the league, and Robinson has lived up to the pick, but throwing to those folks isn't designed to get you 20+ yards downfield, it's designed to get you those 3-4 yard dink/dunk gains to compliment a 3-4 yard/down rushing attack.
Their defense needs to set the offense up for the game they excel at, and like....nope.
I think the saints win this division, with TB imploding due to injury as the year continues, but that could just as easily flip. The panthers will tank from here out and any team turning to Taylor Heine Meineke SHOULD tank. I'd say ATL gets a new d coordinator pretty soon, and spends some draft capital on that side of the ball.
just got repped "I will not tolerate this Atlanta hate."
What do you mean Atlanta hate? It's not like all of your sports teams choke harder than a little white chick in a bbc porn. It's not like your airport is literally satan's anus, designed by a crackhead with no sense of direction or purpose. It's not like if you rush hour traffic is so bad it makes me want to get out of my car and riot harder than all the shit I see on the nightly news. The Atlanta hate? Couldn't be because of your "culinary scene," which dumbed down shit southern food served either a) fast or b) expensive; pick one. Certainly not because you have white trash rednecks to the south, hillbillies to the north and all of the crime in between. You are so bad even Jason Aldean couldn't be born within your city limits. Your most famous athlete raised dogs to fight and then tortured them. Your baseball team is named after Native Americans despite the fact that parts of Georgia were taken from the Cherokee Nation, an act which literally kickstarted the Trail of Tears.
Atlanta hate? No, more like Atlanta pitty. The one and only time I have ever rooted for brady in my life.
At least the city of Atlanta, Braves management and the fan base have the balls to not cave to the woke mob and change the mascot.
Chop chop, mothafuckas. Braves fan 4 life!
They've had a relationship with various tribal groups for over 20 years.
"Brave" is a fairly tame mascot name, too. They no longer use the "screaming Indian" logo on any official merchandise. The 1974 jerseys (like Hank Aaron wore) were very popular, but had a feather on the sleeve. So, last year, the new "City Connect" jerseys married the throwback look without the feather, and I thought was a pretty good compromise. They went from Chief Noc-a-homa as their mascot to the awful Homer the Brave to Blooper. They're trying.
Oops, I meant name, not mascot.
Whoa. The Eagles 9-1, the Lions 8-2. I'm really surprised the Chiefs lost. Not to mention how they lost. WTF is with these receivers dropping balls? Not just talking about last night.
Chiefs drops are ridiculous. Even Kelce dropping things.
Thanks for Douglas, by the way. Had two picks and a fumble recovery for the Bills on Sunday.
Booo, no Manningcast tonight. They're off this week.
In other news, I'm still alive and made it to Week 13 in my Guillotine League! That's with my QB going down in game 1, scoring 0 pts, and my top two scorers (Justin Jefferson / Kyren Williams) have been out a bunch of the season. The guy with McCaffrey and Tyreek on his team bit the dust this weekend. And, me and one other guy are the only ones with FAAB money left, so there is going to be some interested strategy in tomorrow's free agency. I'm hoping he tries to outsmart himself, lol.
You ever see a betting line and just know you should take the opposite of the consensus? The over/under for tonight's game was 30, which is the lowest in decades.
31 points scored in the first half. 21 by a team which lost two out of three games while holding their opponent to 10 or less. And I just knew the over would come in. Too bad I can't bet online in this state until 2024.
