    I'm not depriving myself of anything. It's not like I refuse to listen to rap on principle; no, I've listened to dozens of different rap styles, artists, and eras, including ones in this topic. I simply dislike most of them.

    Cannot stop listening to the new Kanye West...the hype is deserved. Epic, thunderous, dark. Full on bravado.

    The guest appearances are pretty damn good as well. I love RZA, and I'm starting to really dig Rick Ross now. Listen to this album if you haven't yet.

    Bussa-Buss takes back what's rightfully his. Roman's Revenge Remix: <a class="postlink" href="http://hulkshare.com/u5tzd7mombud" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://hulkshare.com/u5tzd7mombud</a>

    He didn't do a great jam of flowing with the beat (granted it's a pretty tough beat to rap to) but he does have some great lines in it.

    (In case you didn't know, the line "raow raow like a dungeon dragon" was said by Busta Rhymes in ATCQ - Scenario)

    So Curren$y's Pilot Talk II just came out. I know I shit on his first album and him in general earlier, but I still felt like I should give the album a listen. Lo and Behold I really fucking like it. His flow never really clicked for me, but, for some reason, I really started digging it. I liked it so much I went back and downloaded the first Pilot Talk and gave it another listen and dug it a whole lot too. I don't know what I was thinking before. Maybe I was in the wrong mood or something but I was super relaxed (no, I wasn't high) and both albums just went with my mood so nicely. Nothing profound going on lyrically or musically, but just great tracks to relax and groove to. Give it a listen.

    Preface: Compared to you guys, I don't know shit about rap, but I follow music and I had a question.

    Why doesn't Eminem get any shit for rapping over his tracks when he preforms live? He's basically lip syncing yet no one ever says shit.

    I don't know if you can really shit on rappers for lip syncing compared to other types of music. For some rappers, their voice is serving as another percussion instrument rather than actual lyrics. Best example of this concept would probably be bone thugs. Sometimes, for rappers who do this sort of thing, recreating that same flow on the spot is incredibly difficult. In the studio you can play around with your voice but that's not an option live. Eminem is sort of a jack of all trades of rap, so he does this sort of thing pretty often. Sometimes words are spilling out of his mouth to create a particular effect that can't really be recreated live. So, to an extent, it's a bit understandable that he would need a quick second to reset his tongue and take a breath. You don't want to break the flow so you have a backing track.

    Basically, for someone like Mariah Carey, lip syncing is a reasonable thing to get pissed off about because you're there to hear her voice live. With a rapper, either you're focused on the lyrics or the flow, both of which are highly dependent on the words being delivered properly, not the quality of the voice.

    Did that make sense? I'm a little high...

    I was a huge fan of jamrock for a while, and this entire album is just fantastic. In all honesty I think it's the best stuff I've heard in 2010.

    Chris Webby, great flow, good rhythm,kinda typical lyrics, but it's good listening.

    Another song I thought was pretty good;

    This is the speed that more rappers should aspire to!

    Tonedeff is absolutely amazing. A lot of people dismiss him as just a guy who spits super fast but he varies the speed in many of his songs and is just an all around well rounded mc. His shit ranges from funny, to emotional to just straight badass.

    It's also been sometime since I pimped out my boy Shad K. Canadian MC that graduated my highschool a couple of years ahead of me. Incredibly lyrical, and his production is always top notch.

    Black and Yellow has 18 million hits in under 3 months. God damn. Hopefully 2011 will be the year when people stop responding with, "Who?" every time I bring up Wiz in conversation.

    How can you post The Master without posting his timeless classic "Clean up the game";

    I dare anyone to watch that and not be moved by that sick talent.

    Anyone else listen to Wale and 9th Wonder's Back to the Feature? 9th Wonder is the best fucking producer alive and I will argue that to the death.
