Anyone have suggestions for power banks they would recommend while camping? I'm riding RAGBRAI across Iowa this summer and while there will be charging stations, I want a couple power banks to charge my phone, watch, bike computer, etc., in my tent while I'm sleeping. How concerned should I be about heat while stored in my bag during the day? Bags are moved from each campsite by box truck, so I'm anticipating it'll get hot in a truck sitting in the sun all day.
I have one of these and it works great: https://www.anker.com/ca/products/a110a-anker-prime-26k-300w-power-bank?variant=52628122632560 I keep it in my laptop bag so can't speak to the heat thing, but Ankor has a pretty solid name when it comes to this stuff, as opposed to cheap knockoffs that have more battery explosion issues. I'd maybe get a small solar panel too to help charge it if you don't think that will last as long as you need it to.
I don’t know if you have power tools, but some of the main brands have banks you can hook up to the batteries and turn it into a bank. They have LOTS of charge- like enough to run a few blender cycles on. They usually come with an AC plug, one for USB and and aux plug. And they are durable against heat and cold.
For the Canadian folks. Who do you use for house insurance? I don't have any claims, and it is steadily going up each year. My insurance went up 500 dollars this year, my house value didn't move. My bill this year is almost 4k. So i am going to shop around.
I use Desjardine, formerly state farm(?) Basically because of the agent. Mom and dad used them for years, and when shit happened, like a flooded basement and office, they were amazing to work with. No nickel and diming, genuinely had their best interests at heart. I now use them too and like the umbrella policy that covers auto, home, travel, etc. Not sure about the price, but I have home and full replacement cost on the Porsche, Airstream, and Ram for less than $4k.
