The fact that the Onion now owns and operates InfoWars is hilarious.

I had to check it out. Three different busses, about .5 miles of walking and 2 hours and 26 minutes. Each way. Leave the house at 5am and get home at 8pm

Yeah, I'm good paying $400+ a month in gas

Alls I know is the 70 mile ride through the mountains to downtown was $12 last year, and is $12 this year. The local bus up in the mountains was $0 last year, and $0 this year.

I have yet to find a bus route to take my dog to daycare, at any time of the day.

I would LOVE to do that.

I've actually joked with the owner of Zoe's daycare that when I retire, I'll do the bus pickup and dropoff for him.

There's this other vendor here at this event that I'm not a fan of. She had some drama with another local baker, then my friend got involved. Police were called at one event last month. Also, another 3rd friend bought her pies and they sucked.

I'm told that I'm turning into a Bob's Burgers character and I'm kind of ok with that.

87 was $4.06 here in northern Virginia at the Wawa I stopped at this morning. The Exxon and the BP stations down the street wanted $4.30/gal.

I really tried public transport when I lived on the boat in Norfolk, and worked in VA Beach. We were trying to make it with only one car. I gave it a good effort and decided it was dumb.

I'd ride my bike to the closest bus stop, but the bike carrier on the bus was always full, so I'd just ride all the way to work. It was only about 8 miles, but was an absolutely horrible route in the Shore Drive, Independence blvd traffic. Then, when I get to the office, I'd need calories. It cost more to feed and fuel my body than it did to drive our little car we had at the time. Gas was cheapish, and the Suzuki SX4 got about 32 mpg. So I gave it up.

I could have walked to the bus stop, then from the stop to the office, that would have added 2 miles of walking to my day. My job was to walk 5-20 miles around construction sites or neighborhoods all day, I just didn't feel like adding another 2 miles to that. It was more about the time than the actual walking. I wanted to get home faster.

For the record, I'm not against public transport. It was amazing in Chicago, NYC, London & the trains were great in England. But unless you live/work in a major city, there are just way too many barriers if you live in the suburbs

That was an amazing finish in the Derby. I don't think I've ever seen a horse come from that far behind to win.
