There’s a group in PA, or at least working within PA, called the Independence Law Center, that specifically recruits people to run for school boards, and then vote for book bannings, and bathroom rules and all the social issues that the right wing loves, that then causes every school district to deal with massive lawsuits. My hometown school board is dealing with it now. I think the grift is, they recruit MAGA people to run for the school board, and when they get elected, they vote to add the Independence Law Center as a “second opinion” legal counsel, which then gets paid, and just tells them to do all the right wing shit. Then there’s lawsuits, which the counsel still gets billed to handle.
And for some groups, a school board election is their training ground for entrance into higher political office. Both parties do it, at least around here.
This is also going on here. They banned the book fair because scholastic had a book about gay kids. Would only run a book fair if we went the super conservative book supplier. They fired their lawyer and hired a new one that reps all of the super maga school boards.
I just spent 5 minutes on Twitter/X, here are my findings: 1) Some Middle-Eastern account posted a video of Tel Aviv getting nuked and a couple thousand people asked Grok: "Is it real??" 2) Jeff Tiedrich still exists. 3) Someone proclaiming they're glad Kobe Bryant is dead. 4) A video of people fighting in a McDonalds. 5) A video of Glenn Beck crying.
Can somebody maybe explain the Bessent interview thing for me? or at least tell me if I’m wrong about what happened: -Bessent is summoned by the president as the interview begins -comes back about two hours later, stammering about his son joining the military and trusting Trump with his son’s life? https://www.reddit.com/r/UnderReportedNews/s/VyWP5Jifvh Like, was that response from Bessent unprompted? What the fuck did he see?
The big thing I don't understand is why the hell is the Treasury Secretary being summoned to the Situation Room, or speaking on US war policy at all? That is in no way his lane.
That’s the other part of it that confused me. What was the interview supposed to be about? And why did he just come back and say “you know, I’m damn proud of my teenage son who’s not in the military but will be?”
Trump just had Kharg Island, Iran's main oil distribution hub, bombed. Let's see what gas prices look like tomorrow. https://www.reuters.com/world/middl...iran-war-approaches-two-week-mark-2026-03-13/
In case anyone wasn't paying attention, Trump and Kegseth recently announced that they have sent 5,000 troops (2,500 Marines, and 2,500 sailors) to the Persian Gulf. I guess now we know why. Let's hope that this is a successful "Military operation."
