If I start hanging out near gas pumps to point and laugh at anyone in a big truck with a MAGA hat or Trump sticker would that be wrong?

But on that note... going to the gas station sucks right now... I'm either buying diesel or 94 octane.

    First world problems.

In my corner of northern Virginia, 87 is $3.40/gal. Last week it was $2.55.

At least I currently furloughed so I'm not driving the 75-80 round trip miles to my office in DC daily right now.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Used to be only available on the local Indian reservation, but then a few petro-canada stations started carrying it. luckily i drive by one daily on the way to the dog’s daycare.

94 octane and a year long carwash membership and it’s damn convenient.

So last week was a bad time to buy a car that only takes 91 octane or above, apparently.

Got my colonoscopy done this morning and only one small polyp this time so now I’m good for five years instead of three. The nurses were great but because I was cold and dehydrated from the clean out, they had difficulty starting my IV. They got it on the 5th time, with my wife on deck to do it. Once I was in a I was more alert than last time ( pleasantly buzzed though ) so I lay there watching them root around in my ass, asking questions and cracking jokes. The doctor was great because I’d asked about the metal clips left behind and he took a minute to show me they were no longer there.we were out of there shortly after nine and now I have the day off to relax.

My bad breakfast of choice was a McDonalds steak egg and cheese bagel which I haven’t had in years. Also one of the donuts that my in-laws sent down. Both tasted amazing.

    Back on the wagon tomorrow.

Been thinking about going electric since I rarely drive my truck out of town but need a panel upgrade (~$5000) and possibly new lines ran from the street if the current ones can't handle 200 amps.
So...... looks like I'll be paying $6+ a gallon for a bit

Yeah, I opted for fun over frugal.

Electric just wasn't it for me... and it seems like a lot of people feel the same way, seeing as Porsche is drastically reducing EV production and plans, and doubling down on internal combustion (hybrids for some models).

As to the truck, it's to tow the Airstream... no way I'd ever go electric for that. I see some "told you it could be done" reports/stories every now and then, but yeah.... no... I'll stick to my diesel.

Until they get the charge time down to under 10 minutes. Electric vehicles are off the table for me. Or massive range 900+km. I want to be able to travel where i want to and not have to wait for an hour for charging.

I meant to gas up Saturday but didn't get to it til Sunday. Gas had been around $3.30/gal lately. I found a station Sunday at $3.73 and filled both vehicles. Most stations around town were already at $4. Today it's all over the place. A couple stations in town are at $4.20 but others are less. I wonder what it will level off at.

Was looking at Rivians. 825hp seems like a good time to me lol.
Not really concerned about range. 95% of my trips are to work and back (about 50 miles round trip). Also not concerned about charge times as I'd just plug it in over night.
The new boat is too damn big to tow regardless unless I had a dually and wanted to get a Wide Load permit every time I needed to tow it.

Still have a manual trans, RWD car with almost 800hp. So plenty of fun to be had when I want it.

Spoken like a man who works from home lol. I already spend about $400 a month on gas. Might be closer to $500 next month

Chyna is working on that. Just read they have a new battery that last 700 miles a charge. 10 minutes I don’t know.
