Good grief, dude. Grab an angle grinder, a full suit of medieval armour and get snippin’. I wonder how badly it fucked up all the hydraulics and the REAL expensive stuff. Even the grease used to lubricate that automation costs an arm and a leg.

Some just throw shoes at you and say “what’s wrong witchu? What is you, stupeeed?!?!” when you buy the wrong thing at the grocery store.

 

That is one race of people we don't really have up here(small 12k pop town, we actually have a pretty diverse group) or else i would of gotten my younger self into way to much trouble.

 

I'm fashionably late to the nostalgia party. I, like Dixie, turned mid 40's last year and I didn't realize how old some of your fuckers are. I got into the TMMB in my very early 20's and I figured most of the other people were around that age as well, never even occurred to me there would be people in their late 30's on the board. Looking at the present though, I do hang around some younger streamer chats so I guess I'm the old guy in the youngin spaces.
I was on quite a few message boards back in the day, some offshoots of TMMB, some adjacent, but none I posted on as frequently as TMMB or this. This an one other site I have bookmarked on my google homepage, so hopefully if I kick it and this place still exists, someone will post about it.

I actually see a lot of the former posters on the board pop up in various places as I have a lot of people's email addresses from the TiB fantasy football days and everywhere I import contacts or gmail, it usually gives me a few hits if they are on the website as well. I never reach out as that seems pretty creepy, nor do I want to the the weird guy self inviting to someone else's party.

I'd post more around town, but I'm in the final stages of securing a site for my restaurant and I'm feet/balls/neck deep in everything that goes along with that while also working fulltime. I get 2hrs a night to catch up on life around the world before I inevitably fall asleep in front of my computer as I'm trying to speed run giving myself blood clots in my legs.

Australia has been pretty good, but fuck me, most of the people in the country have a serious case of main character syndrome when it comes to Australia on the whole. Land mass the size of the entire US, but with a population of just Florida. There's so many people here who think Australia is like this big thing in the world and daily I'm like, "No one cares about what goes on here. You aren't even in the top 10 when it comes to countries other countries want to hear from on anything to do geopolitically or economically." The amount of complaining I hear about cost of living and overall satisfaction with government as well is astonishing. Come to the states where the federal minimum wage is $7/hr, we have almost zero workers rights, our employers don't completely fund our 401k's, we have to pay weekly for the shittiest healthcare plans which barely cover anything, and your daily grocery shop isn't much more than it is in the states when adjusting for the exchange rate. It's wild to me. If I have to read one more Facebook post about how the local council isn't spending enough time weeding the median in the road and it makes the town look trashy and how much money gets sent to them....I just can't....
Otherwise, it's been good. It's very eye opening though to see how similar life is in "western" countries in comparison to non-western countries.

 

We’re currently getting freezing rain here, which is the last thing I need right now. The Mrsanthropic needs to get to the doctor to have a carcinoma scraped off of her face, and get the subsequent reconstruction. And of course my neck locked up Sunday night so I’ve been in intense pain for a couple of days now. This further complicated clearing our fucking ski ramp of a driveway. She’s on some restrictions so that she can’t assist. On top of that I’m scheduled to leave for a work conference tomorrow. I’m in enough pain that showing up to the conference is in doubt.

What a lousy week this has turned into.
