Better than Picard? 80-year-old Jean Luc rag-tagging around with a bunch of misfits wasn't my cup of tea.

Totally different, but yeah, I'd say it is better. Picard had a goal to be a bit intellectual and have complex story lines, this, not so much.

I hear it's getting slammed as the worst Star Trek ever and Paramount+s woke scold playbook against fans' criticism isn't exactly driving viewership numbers against its insane budget. The second season of Picard was the worst season of Trek Ive ever watched and I lost interest an episode into the 3rd season which everyone says is actually good good. I liked season 1 of Strange New Worlds and haven't seen the rest but I hear Kurtzman is fucking that up too. Section 31 was dog shit I turned off.

I got into Knight of the Seven Kingdoms because I am a battered wife for Game of Thrones. HBO better fucking not do this to me again, start of amazingly strong and fuck it up in later seasons. It's a small intimate version of the show and episodes are only half an hour. You can tell they are trying to keep the budget down but the character set ups and relationships are great. One episode left of a 6 episode season. Better not be two fucking years to get the next one. They aren't shooting in 19 different Mediterranean countries it fucking shouldn't.

I just realized today that this thread wasn’t about a show called “The Wall.” I’ve never looked at it before because I’d never heard of the show. With good reason I guess.

We just started watching Landman finally and we’re really enjoying it.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is awesome, I only wish the episodes were longer.

AMC has another season of Dark Winds starting up and we’ve enjoyed that one so far. So we’re happy to a new season.

Yeah, when I first spun the thread up it was more about a bunch of shit being thrown up against the wall to see what stuck, as opposed to spinning up a thread per show when it wasn’t worthy.

My intention was to use it to help introduce new shows that were coming out to the wider audience.

You're not the only one. This thread was started while I was absent, and when I started logging in again, it took a little bit for me figure out what was going on in this thread.

I am sick and watched Fleet Academy, i am really enjoy it. I tried Discovery it wasn't horrible at first, but they kept making the same mistakes over and over again. You could see how the episode was going to unfold in the first few minutes. I got until about halfway through season 3 i think, halfway through an episode and they were firing on something with a shield or something like that but at the beginning of the episode they explained that if they did that the bad guys would get in or something and i was like FFS you let the bad guys win by doing exactly what you said you shouldn't earlier and stopped watching right there.

Gotta say, I'm right there with you.

Sounds like Academy is all over the map with fan reactions.

It’s hated with a burning passion.
I thought Discovery was an AI show when I watched it. Everything about it seemed like a fake Star Trek franchise, right down to its shitty anxious editing and wooden performances. I was never big on Star Trek but holy fuck is that show annoying and pretentious. And what cameras did they use to shoot it? Everything looked very over-detailed.
