You know who is gay? The alcoholic actor that played Walt Jr. on Breaking Bad. (Not really I made that up).

Years ago a fan did the animated warhammer short series called Astartes, which was fucking amazing.

He just dropped a new little animation for an upcoming book release.

I love this guy's work and wish someone would fund him to do a full on movie.

Any chance my Canadian friends could take this shit back a little further north where it belongs? We haven’t had it this cold, for this long, in a few years and it’s a lot harder to deal with now that I’ve cut back on drinking.

Someone from the south once pointed out there’s nothing to do up here in winter but eat and drink. I knew she was right of course, I just didn’t realize how right she was.

    Oh please.

On that note I made hot mulled wine and shepherd’s pie for dinner.

IMG_2026-01-29-191238.jpeg It’s going to be an interesting walk home tonight being three sheets to the wind already. The temps will be in the single digits also. It’s only a quarter mile, I can do it.

Bearing in mind we live way, WAY further down south than the rest of Canada too, but that means nothing when our friend the lake effect comes calling. It’s like the evil Bizarro version of the chinooks.

    So true.

People also have no idea that we're as far South as we are... we're almost in line with the Northern edge of California.

But this year has been a bit rough because the Great Lakes haven't frozen over yet, so all that moisture is being sucked up into the air and dumped down as snow.

It is unseasonably warm and that's bad for reasons but I'm super thrilled to be able to use the hose to fill the duck buckets in January.

It's below normal here for the second week in a row. We're going to get some snow Saturday which will definitely stick around for a bit as temps will remain below normal for the next few days. We haven't had a decent snow here in awhile so I'm actually looking forward to it.

We got lucky last weekend as they were calling for a lot of freezing rain which would have been a disaster. We got mostly sleet instead, thankfully.

I'll admit to being a little whiny. I used to be outdoors all the time, even go camping in this shit and now I am always cold.

    Damn, that sounds good.

It was cold enough today that I opted to not take Zoe to camp this morning, as they wouldn't have been outside much anyway due to the cold.

I also may not have wanted to get out of a nice warm bed this morning to go and de-ice a car and freeze my ass off, and instead just lounge around working from home drinking bailey's and coffee because I don't need to drive anywhere.

It has been weird this year up here too. Not nearly as much snow as normal through out all of northern bc. Prince George which usually has a foot of snow or more had grass visible until last week.

Your snow and stuff would be a welcome change to the Tule fog that GTE and I have been living with for almost two months. Nett, my son who lives in way Northern California has had to suffer through a winter of almost 65 degree days. He was mad that he had to go to a conference in San Jose this week.

So over this foggy shit. Supposed to get a slight break next week. Mid-low 60s.
If we have some of the highest taxes, highest fuel prices, highest home prices and highest homeless population, we better get some damn Sun soon.
