Wow. Long overdue, but I’m still very surprised. I think we’re starting to see the tipping point of what ALL the people will tolerate.
Munchkinland will be glad to have its mayor back! I'm holding back any hope until people start serving prison time. Otherwise, this is just "transferring priests to a new parish" kinda energy.
i love that so many people are "he/she who prosecutes this administration in the future has my vote" minded.
He’s still breathing. Fucking ousting his post, he needs to be “ousted” from the fucking planet. Along with most of his shitheel chickenshit servants.
Seeing that he was removed from his position, and immediately removed from social media access. they’ll try having a less militant guy when they roll into CA.
Sounds like Walz and Trump talked and ICE will be pulling out of MN now, and the shooters will be properly investigated. There is some SERIOUS shit going on behind the scenes right now.
This is anecdotal but somebody on reddit speculated that perhaps the reason Trump et al won’t pull the proverbial trigger and go martial, is because the higher ups in the military are explaining to him just how they’ll he compelled to respond. But I do think a lot of those types of comments are wishful thinking. I think Trump will pivot to talk of mailing out checks, then he’ll send ICE to the next state.
Bovino committed the cardinal sin of Trumpworld: he generated bad press. What seems likely is that Trump was looking for a way out as a result, and Walz offered him one.
I think a bunch of senior people, military and republicans, are finally reining him in. Shit is on fire. The amount of US Treasury bonds that are getting dumped, the number of foreign countries threatening to call in their debt, the military bullshit, and ICE... they need shit to settle the fuck down as they are blowing all the shit up and killing whatever hope they have for their future.
I think the global reaction to Trump at Davos was the beginning of the end. “It’s time to take the keys from grandpa” indeed.
This is very wishful thinking. The only thing Trump cares about is himself. He doesn't give two shits about debt, the military, ICE, any of that. He only cares about himself, his money and his image. Bovino backtracked and was on twitter for hours the other day arguing with people about the shooting. He's been yeeted for the same reason Elon is gone and Ramaswamy is gone and every other person Trump has cast out, they didn't fall in line to make Trump look good or make him money. Look at the Epstein Files. If anyone of his circle broke ranks, they would have been ejected from everything. Bovino is just another in the long line of people who took Trump's dick out of his mouth long enough to have an independent thought and it cost him his place in line.
I think Greenland was the effective end of his presidency. Sure, he's going to try all sorts of stupid shit, but he lost any remaining moderates. It's becoming clear to everyone that he just listens to morons and is easily manipulated. He didn't even move on the Minnesota situation until the NRA started talking shit (read: PR clean-up after their own retarded statement). Turns out he has to jerk off special interests like everyone else. I think the Democrats win in November, but not with veto override numbers, but enough to neuter his ability to do anything.
Greenland and his shit ramblings at Davos solidified the UK against the US, while Carney articulated a united path forward without the US. It also resulted in hundreds of billions of dollars worth of treasury bonds being dumped. That is non-trivial.
It's remarkable how everything he has done has somehow benefited Russia. From alienating the US allies specifically adjacent to Russia, to the dollar plummeting to hollowing out NATO, etc. Funny. I keep thinking the path forward needs some major updates, including a constitutional amendment or two, flushing some turds from the Supreme Court, and if not a complete revision of the Section 230 law that lets social media companies get away with....well, this kind of bullshit, a curtailing of the liberties they seem to be abusing. I also think that the candidate who would have won in the last few elections is "Did not vote", and that is a tremendous issue. The damage being done now is severe, and some of it will never be repaired. The existing factors and structures that permit this sort of thing to happen cannot survive intact, and the sooner we start thinking about what fixing it looks like, the better. Wallowing in outrage isn't doing a goddamned thing, and the longer the collective sits on it's ass and makes sad social media noises, the bigger the incentive for individuals with a gun and nothing to lose to act on our behalf. In other words, we need people to discredit Charlie Kirk, not a single person to shoot him in the neck. That said, between Panama Papers, Epstein, the outrageous shit Trump and Musk have pulled, some billionaire has to face justice. It's non-negotiable at this point, and better a sane, rational justice than a guillotine. Democracy doesn't mean "all of us" if a dozen sociopaths who have run things into the fucking dirt do not pay their fair share and receive justice for the wrongs they have done. Part of the reason the Democrats have zero credibility is they didn't act decisively in this regard, stopping at AOC and Bernie Sander's sassy tweets. Trump is cooking, and he'll be done at the mid-terms, assuming the elections aren't fucked with. That's the prevailing wisdom, since that's more or less what happened in 2018. The only difference is there's NOTHING stopping them from fucking with the elections. The deal was "voter rolls and we'll leave MN" and that is unthinkably scary.
Reining him isn't good enough. There needs to be consequences for people involved beyond getting demoted. America doesn't come back from this until people are shown that you can't get away with just ignoring the constitution. Frankly I don't think that happens and we continue our slide to the crazy backwater country we were in the 19th century. Super fun to live at the end of American hegemony.
I agree, but I don't see that happening while they're still in power. Meanwhile, Trump now wants to send ICE to the Milan Olympics. lol wut?
