So how does that work? Do you have emergency power to drop them? Rappel them out? Send them actual beer for the beer garden? Are they still in there?

    So many questions!

Back in Alabama there was a beer garden pub that was kind of German style. Their menu was very sausage and potato centric. In Hawaii, the mall in Honolulu had a Japanese style beer garden that was huge semi open section of a busy food... Area? Not really a food court. It was sensory overload and I wish I could take my kid to visit and try all the interesting looking prepared foods.

What the hell is @wexton talking about?

    Happy Friday!

I gotta assume rapp? Ski resorts will evacuate a chairlift via ropes, so I have to imagine a trained operator can get down in similar fashion.

I don't know how they ended up getting out. But we do have a big ass mobile generator that they can hook up to the cranes in emergencies and operator the crane and 10% enough to get everything safe. But that takes time and the outage only lasted for about 2 hours.

If you don't know anything about Longshormen is a good majority of them are drunks and duggies, well used to be, still is but not as bad as it used to be. So everything has some weird ass names from along time ago. We have 3 small busses to ferry guys around the yard so they don't have to walk through it, and those are called bunny busses.

Signed up for DirecTV Stream. Got the 5 day trial run, gave all the credit card info, went to the TV but couldn't seem to figure it out. No surprise there because I'm a tech moron so I called DirecTV tech and apparently my expensive ass OLED LG doesn't work with DirecTV Stream. Have I mentioned that I FUCKING HATE electronics?

    What a great night.

Did a ton of yardwork today, then grilled up some pork belly and scallions on the weber, while drinking a bottle of wine, watching the Montreal F1 qualifying.

    What a great fucking night.

I am not long out of bed, I’ll tell you what.

Dude it’s not even 1800 hours.

Today started as a neighbors garage sale and wound up as drinking all day, without selling the garage or anything in it. Bloody Mary’s and beer, and now here I am in the early evening trying to decide if I keep on going or dial it back for the evening.

    Who am I kidding?

Have a week off this week... basically to catch up with shit around the house and getting the Airstream out of storage and ready for travels this summer.

Holy shit I hate the back of my house.

It's in the shade, and over the last few years has grown a shit-ton of green mildew. Took me 2 days of pressure washing to get that shit clean. What the hell? Never mind, how the hell is my ass kicked just from pressure washing for 2 days?

On the plus side, it's been fantastic weather, so been nice to just sit out on the deck and enjoy a cocktail or 3 in the sweltering heat while hosing off the dog.

Did up one of the most amazing smoked/grilled chickens on the Big Green Egg tonight... slow cooked with smoke for 90 minutes, then finished off super hot for some amazing crispy spiced up skin. Super crispy, super juicy, nice smoke, amazing spice (Meat Church Holy Voodoo with a bit of extra smoked paprika and ground black and pink peppercorns).

I've also got a bunch of chicken and beef marinating right now for a nice yakitori grilling dinner tomorrow night. Found some great, big scallions (love me some grilled scallions), and some scallops.

The only thing that really sucks right now is that the patio table I made almost 10 years ago is in desperate need for refinishing, but I just haven't had a good enough stretch of weather to sand and refinish it yet... so it's a bit fucking rough.

It finally feels like Summer is kicking off... warm weather with minimal/nice rain, instead of near freezing and wet all the time.

You wanna send some of that weather our way?

It’s been so goddamned wet and depressing here in our part of Upstate NY. I read that it’s rained every weekend since March, which I must have known but blocked out of my mind in order to stay sane.

Preach. The weather in the northeast has been abysmal. I think we're at, what? 17 rainy Saturdays in a row? I'd like to get out to play 18 at least one weekend this summer. Good grief.

Yup. And of course when you do get a sunny day - like yesterday was - and try to leave the house, you find out how much the mosquitos have loved all of this rain.

We walked a section of trail that we've probably walked two dozen times and didn't get a mile before we turned around. There were literal clouds of mosquitos around us.

We have a water easement along the property that we spray for mosquitos every spring. It made zero difference this year. They are everywhere. The upside is watching the bats go to work at dusk. It is crazy watching how many there are flying around.

We are dry as always but my kid picked up their first tick of the season after a hike in a wildlife preserve area. Fun times!
