I graduated from high school in 2004. Off the top of my head, the people I know of from my class who have died: 2 from accidental drug overdoses 1 murder. He was killed in a hit and run while driving, after driving home from a date. The case is still unsolved. And this person went to a prestigious school and had a good job. Seemingly not the kind of person who was into drugs. 1 suicide 1 terminal illness 1 from a motorcycle accident where she and her brother were both drunk. She was riding on the back, he was driving but survived. 1 where I am not sure (but this person was into drugs, at least at one point) I also know of two other people I went to high school with who have passed but weren't in my class. One was from cancer. Her mom was one of my teachers too and was really nice, so that was devastating to hear about. The other one had a heart condition where they were not expected to live past 30, but made it to their mid-thirties. He was married to a girl who was in my class, and they had been together since middle school. I also recall two people I went to high school with who died while we were still in high school. One was from a drunk driving accident, and the other one was from using inhalants.
There was an awful situation near us last month. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna206223 My wife knew people who knew this family, and filled me in on their past. That dude should not have been out of the hospital, for any reason, ever.
I think I'm over a dozen high school classmates that passed before 45. Some drugs, some cancer or other health related issue not a result of poor life choices, and a few accidents. The first died the year after we graduated in her sleep in her dorm room. From what I heard, she had an unknown heart condition. If I include people I knew from my time in the military add at least another 15-20 from combat or training and aviation accidents.
I had a friend get into a head-on on his motorcycle in high school. Not his fault, but he paid the price. Another high school friend got one-punched to death mouthing off to someone while trying to get into an old bar while underage. Had 3 friends in the military blow themselves up during explosives training. Had 1 splash down in his aircraft, with only the oil slick in the BC ocean found. Had a long time music business buddy go MIA, turns out he went from having fun to being diagnosed with cancer to dead in under 2 months. He never found time to tell me, but he had a young family so man, no judgement there.
My graduating class was small, like 120 kids across 5 towns. Here's the rundown: - One of my best friends died at 16. Another one of his friends got drunk and drove wrapped his car around a telephone pole. My friend was the passenger. The driver went to jail and was fucked up since. He later got arrested for driving to Mountain View to murder Google executives because his YouTube channel was taken down. -One chick killed herself because her boyfriend was a stunt cock in a porn movie. -A teacher hung himself because he got arrested for soliciting a male prostitute after he called the cops on the prostitute who stole his car. -About 10 people died of Fentanyl overdoses over the years.
When I was 13, there was a much older teen who lived on the same street. He was in a car crash (can't remember if he was driving) and died. I wouldn't think to count him as our friendship consisted of him waving at me when he'd drive by. I want to say his name was Anthony but that could be because he had long hair exactly like Anthony Keidis
I’m not sure how many of my former classmates are dead. I’m pushing 60 so deaths aren’t uncommon unfortunately. meanwhile, it’s garage night.
This generation is soft. One of the estimators missed another day of work because his grandmother is in the hospital. When I got the call that my grandmother passed, I went to my car, cried for a bit and then back to work.
Lightening struck a 500kv transmission line and knocked power out for 45,000 customers along 600km(370mile) stretch of highway. There was a crew in the beer gardens(40' working cage to unlock the top few rows of containers) when the power went out.
