My wife and I went to a small touristy town in northeast Pennsylvania to check out the shops and bars, and have dinner. It was definitely confusing and awkward to figure out when to wear masks and when not to. Only the restaurant posted guidelines, most of the shops had few people, and mask wearing among the tourists varied widely.
My wife, through her pain management doc, gets week-long ketamine infusions in the ICU about every two years. Or, used to. That therapeutic is off the table thanks to covid. She should be getting it now, she is past due. Unless we can get the VA to do it in consult with her pain management, she is screwed. Those infusions help tremendously. They suck, they're a huge hassle, but they do help her CRPS pain. Fuck covid, right in its little virus ass.
I was able to have breakfast with my neighbor this morning, and then after nap #2 we went and brought a cupcake to my elderly next door neighbor and visited. It's nice to be able to see people again and allow my bebe to see other adults. Plus side, my child was exhausted and has slept really good all day. Social interaction is a new thing and that little brain was soaking it all in.
I have a friend who has CRPS. He just got a stimulator put in a couple weeks ago and says it has helped tremendously with his pain. Is that something she's able to consider doing or do they only treat with drugs?
Depending on where you live, a lot of doctors gave ketamine clinics where I think you pay out of pocket. My wife goes about every 6 weeks and it costs her like $350.

She had a spinal cord stimulator for years. It didn't work great for her and ended up failing. They removed it a while back. They are planning on a new one, but she's not hopeful about it working any miracles. I'm hopeful the higher frequency stimulation will help more with the new one. She gets those also, and they work pretty good as, like, boosters. It's the long treatments that are truly life changing for her, though. Been getting those single day treatments every two to three months, and the long ones every two years, for around ten years.

I went to Costco this weekend, which in my neck of the woods, has removed their mask mandate. My husband and I played game, "I Guess They're Vaccinated...Or Are They?!?" I'm assuming I have the antibodies since I tested positive. My doc told me I should wait three months to get the vaccine because the side effects are worse when you have the antibodies than when you don't. Not sure if I'll wait the full three months because I'm anxious to just put this whole thing behind me, but at least I can be somewhat prepared for the side effects.
