This is going to fun for those of us hungry for baseball. Karl Ravech is going to do the call. From his bedroom.

So this is like the most aggravating part of the season- postseason games that end at 2am. Awesome.

Why not show them 18 hours later? It’s not like that would spoil anything.

That was my thought too. I fell asleep in the 3rd inning. I'm also not a fan of the split screen they used, I really don't need to see the announcers.

They are rebroadcasting them. (Like today at 3:00 pm) But, people bet on everything. So, bettors can watch live. Also, ESPN came to be popular by extending their broadcasting into the wee hours with less known sports like Australian rules football way back in their early days. It worked once, so I imagine there is some desire to capture that magic again.

Ah. I guess there is some logic to that, which I would be willing to tolerate given the strange circumstances. But, I know they'll just use it as an excuse to make it permanent. I wish they'd just do it like interleague games, and the home stadium rules be in play. I guess that's not feasible if it's not balanced.

I honestly miss the way it used to be when the leagues were separated. It gave real mystique to the World Series, and the All-Star Game as well because it was the only time the two leagues (with the slightly different offence rules) met all year. Besides spring training of course.

I have zero sympathy for the owners. They're so fucking cheap they ended the dreams of a few hundred minor league players to save enough money to buy a modest home in Seattle. And not even a nice part of Seattle either.

    Anybody like their draft pick(s)?
Jared Shuster for the Braves' first pick. Solid lefty.

The Oakland Athletics drafted with their first pick a catcher Tyler Soderstrom from my old High School. To say that I am excited and happy would be an understatement.

    Happy Bobby Bonilla Day!
The Mets will pay Bobby Bonilla $1.143 million* today, and every July 1 until 2035. What great way to have structured his contract. He last played ball in 2001.

*I've seen this number reported as low as $1.2 mil and as high as $1.9, but I think that one is right.

I wonder who the first player (or, if directed, who the first manager) will be that suddenly has a sprained ankle to get to lefty-lefty matchup, to get around the 3-batter rule.

Tyler Soderstrom just signed his contract with the Oakland Athletics including a signing bonus of $3.3 million dollars. He is on the 60 man roster for whatever games are played this year. 2020 is a pretty year for that 18 year old recent high school graduate.

Earlier this year, I predicted the onset of "flu-like symptoms," but now that phrase might shut down the entire game. I think you're closer to the bullseye.

So ready for baseball. (Tentatively) happening this week! Woo.

I am hoping Mike Soroka has a great season, and he's been tapped as the opening day starter for the Braves this year. An article on the rotation included this picture - such a great snapshot of why it's called a Circle Change. Classic grip.
