Rave: my ducks give me way more eggs than we can eat. I've been selling them no problem and this last sale told me to inform her when I have more because she'll buy them all. I'm developing a customer base kinda! She just bought 50 eggs for $25. Hell yeah. It's not big cash but covers their feed and straw bedding.

RANT: I got bit by a spider over night on my arm. It's all kinds of inflamed and discoloured now, never mind a weird mix of itchy and painful. Yay.

Rave: So far it looks as if my area will get off lightly with the bushfires being contained or burning in other directions. Have had a little look around and was doing high visibility patrols with State Emergency Service yesterday and the damage is horrendous.

RANT: I do not need this shit. A friend of mine has been not so subtly suggesting her and I hooking up for the past few years. She's married to one of my friends and she's also the mother of my niece that I absolutely adore and there is no way I'm getting involved in their family bullshit. She's been texting me tonight wanting a place to stay. Yeah that's going to be a hard no.

Why do folks have to bring their drama into your life?

Rave: It fucking rained, finally for the first time in I can't remember when it rained. Even if it was just a little it was enough to allow some serious backburns and hopefully set up some good firebreaks before the heat comes back in a few days.

Who knows: After getting left by my fiance last year out of the blue in november and finally realizing that it was probably for the best and just now falling for a girl I knew very little before, my life gets a bit strange. I've never fallen so hard, so much so, that I doubt that I was ever in love before. I didn't know how she sees me. Today when I left the house, I knew in my gut that I'd learn something and it probably wouldn't be good.
Well, there's another guy, she always used to look for unavailable guys, maybe as self-protection. And from what she told me today, she doesn't really know what she wants and basically knows it's likely doomed.
Well, part of my resolutions after my last relationship was, that I wouldn't take any more half-measures. So I'll let that settle a bit, but ultimately I'm gonna tell her how I feel. For my own sake. But somehow, my gut keeps telling me this isn't over and everything will work out. And usually, my gut is right, see above.
So strap in, it will be an interesting ride...

Rave: My leg sleeve is almost finished, after yesterday I have one session left with some mionr touch ups in a few months. It looks pretty awesome, I'll put some pictures up in the ink thread.

Rave: My area got through yesterdays rubbish fire conditions without any big mishaps and the conditions for the rest of the week are decent for fire fighting so touching wood I won't have to grab the go bag any time soon.

Rant: Just had to break our sons' hearts and tell them that outlr dog is scheduled for her last vet appointment for euthanasia this Friday.

Alt rant: I've been drinking all evening in the hopes of helping me make this easier. It didn't. And I may have conveyed a message of unhealthy coping mechanisms.

    Fuck.

RANT: Does anyone else hate getting a hair cut as much as I do? Some people just love going to the barber shop/ salon and bullshitting with the barber, but I hate having to make small talk.

RAVE: Florida trip booked for next month. Finally get out of this shit ass cold weather and get some warmth in these bones.

Possible RANT: The last 2 out of 3 FL trips with the wife had unseasonably cold weather the exact days we were there.

Rant: One of the kid in my bus has been getting bounced around from her first foster home to another place and now waiting to go somewhere else. Her face this morning said it all, she’s normally bright and cheery but today she was pretty down.

She’s such a good kid, deserves a stable home but I’m afraid the system is going to completely fuck her over. If we had a spare bedroom I swear she could come live with us.

This must be one of those hazards of the job no one warns you about. It really sucks some days.

Rant: We're weaning the oldest out of her sleep pullups right now. Apparently the thing to do is after they go to bed, wake them up to pee before the parents go to sleep. At around 10 PM, Mrs. James goes to grab Miss James to pee. I am just drifting off when my wife frantically runs into the hallway, sticks her head into our bedroom and quietly shouts that Miss James is barfing. By the time I get to her bedroom, I see her standing on her mattress at the foot of the bed, puking like she was pledging a sorority. While I hustled her into the tub for her second bath of the evening, my amazing wife began cleaning up the bedroom that most forensics teams would have had second thoughts entering. I didn't get to bed until a little after 11. This was after using a carpet cleaner on the rug, because who wants blueberry stains on relatively new carpet? Mrs. James, after showering herself, was stuck cleaning the washer due to bits of vomit not getting drained out of the tub. She woke me up at 12:30 because Miss James apparently was wide awake and refusing to sleep. I got to stand in her room for 20 minutes until she fell asleep. Mrs. James finally came to bed at 2 AM. I woke up at 4 AM today to get ready for work.

The next morning, Mrs. James told me that Miss James had apparently coughed up some orange foam seconds before destroying her bedroom. I let her know that that the bath bomb I had put into Miss James's first bath that evening was orange. She had apparently consumed some bath water while I was putting Jimmy the Younger down and Mrs. James was cleaning the kitchen after dinner.

I'm going to tell this story at Miss James's wedding someday.

RANT: The auto shop that is tuning the Nova called and something is wrong with the motor. Super low oil pressure at idle and initial WOT but has good pressure at red line. Makes good power though so.....? They're going to dig into it and let me know what they find.

RAVE: Have never had to experience what Jimmy James went through. That sounds fucking terrible.

edit - RANT: Also hung over. Too much wine. Ugh.

Rave: I passed something that once belonged to our grandfather on to my cousin, who I think died before cuz was born or old enough to actually know him. I promised it to him back at Christmas but today actually gave it to him. The look on his face was priceless, he was beaming ear to ear and wouldn't let go of it. Really made my day.

Rant: Family health stuff. Toddler nephew tested positive for elevated lead in his system. Definitely due to that damned house they are living in.

Mostly rave: Mom is finally having her double foot surgery, long overdue. She was recommended to have a single one done 8 years ago and now both need it. During her trip out here to visit she could barely walk at a normal pace and being out all day for regular errands with me caused her significant pain. So hopefully this resolves her issues. Small rant, because she's giving me "if I die before I wake" messages of love/closure. I appreciate the sentiment but doggon, woman. You're gonna be fine. I don't mean to make it about me because it's not, but now I'm sweating bullets til tomorrow morning when she'll be out of surgery. Rave, because the most caring sister will be driving into town to help her with recovery. I just don't see my dad or brother filling that role sufficiently.

RANT: A very close friend passed away at 51. We spent most of our 20's together drinking, chasing women and having way more fun then anyone should be allowed to have. The world is going to be a bit duller place without him in it. RIP my brother.

Rave: After an embarrassingly long span of time, I swore this week I would get the first round of edits and revisions on a book project done. I just finished it. Now I get to go through it one more time. Still, yay me.

RAVE: After 6 months of unemployment I finally got a job offer on Friday. It’s a great job that I really want to do with a stable beverage company. It means I’ll have to move back closer to Atlanta, which I’m kinda looking forward to.

RAVE: Also on Friday I went out for the first time with the new girl and we closed down four different restaurants and bars. We had a great time even though she ended the night by puking in her front yard.

    RAVE: She’s 33 and gorgeous; I’m 49, and she’s fine with that.

RAVE: I'M OFFICIALLY A MASTER HEAVY DUTY TRUCK TECHNICIAN!

I passed HD Systems, HD Gasoline Engines, and Automotive Gasoline Engines.

I thought the HD and Automotive gas engine tests would be almost identical, but the HD test was a lot more complicated.

Still, I passed with 90% or better on all three test.

Tonight, Jungle Julia and I celebrate by trying a new batch of acid.

Rant: I just hit my head so hard coming up from grabbing something under my desk that I tasted metal for 5 minutes. No idea what that means, but I'm pretty sure it's not great.
