Get a copy of Football Outsiders Almanac 2019. In the New England Patriots section, page 156, it goes into great detail showing the decline in his game last year. He's not some magician who's immune to ageing.

Does it say if the most recent super bowl ring is less valuable than the previous one? Kidding. There’s was actually a Reddit thread I’ll try to link here that goes into insane detail of how his game has slowly declined over the last three seasons. I was actually hoping he’d retire at the end of last season so he doesn’t go out like Brett Favre.

I mean, fine, there's a "decline in his game."

He threw for 4,355 yards and a nearly 3:1 TD:INT ratio, won a Superbowl, and none of his receivers started every game.

This year he's throwing to Edelman, Gordon, Thomas and Brown. Nobody is saying he's immune to aging. But a stellar WR group makes up for a lot arm strength, and he's still going to have great decision making, great anticipatory throws, and the short passing game has always been a tremendous part of the Pats offense.

Oh FFS, all I'm trying to say is that Brady may not put huge numbers with those receivers because his accuracy and arm strength are declining as will any 40+ year old guy. I didn't say he was horrible or anything. Calm down fanboys.

Anyone else think AB purposely acted insane in order to get out of Oakland? The events of the last few days don't make any sense otherwise.

Depending on who you believe, there are reports out there that he spoke with social media consultants on how to act online in order to help ensure his release from the Raiders. Dude's likes on twitter are full of people calling mayock slurs I'd rather not repeat even on here. This is one example.

Pat McAfee jokingly predicted this exact thing a bit before it actually happened.

Personally, I do believe he did exactly what you suggested. Steelers didn't wanna trade him to the Pats in the offseason (even though the patriots, by many reports, offered the best trade package). So he basically forced the club that got him to release him so he could sign where he wanted. It's a behavior that, if proved, should be cracked down on hard by the Goodell. Sets a terrifying precedent, and one that's easy to duplicate for players with enough balls.

Watching the Patriots last night knowing that they're only going to get better when A.B. can actually play...

"Calm down <insult>" is always the last refuge of someone who has nothing else useful to contribute.

Yeah, I almost deleted it and should have. It was a shitty response. The Patriots and Brady looked as good as ever last night. We'll see how it plays out the rest of the season.

So the Dolphins are an 18.5 point home underdog versus the Pats this week. Normally I'd say take the points and run as Miami has freakishly good luck at home versus the Pats. But I just can't see how they cover as bad as they are. Belichick feels sorry for his former coach maybe?

43-0 and Belichick still bitches his team out for playing subpar. The Dolphins yesterday:

This is the easiest schedule in football...the first game that is reasonably close is in November. They'll have secured a playoff spot two weeks after Halloween.

Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but....Goddamn it.

Also, the Packers and Cowboys have 2-0 division records. The Pack will probably have won that division already, given the quality of competition (Chicago will get it's shit together, but not in time).
The Cowboys on the other hand, will have some good competition with Philly.

Pittsburgh is effectively out of the playoff picture, as Big Ben will have season-ending elbow surgery. If Brees goes down for more than a couple of weeks too, I'd wager that the Chargers, Giants and Pats will start carrying 2 backup QB's with some serious name recognition....

The end of that Bears v Broncos game was fucking NUTS man. God bless football, just when you think you've seen it all, not even close. And with the new rules this year, it's making that true even more so. Lots of injuries yesterday, some of which looked like nothing but it's normally those that are the worst.

Although it was not pretty (except the 1st quarter) it was still a win for the Packers. I'll take it, please and thank you.

I bet on the Bears. I went from happy to sad to excited to angry and then elated over the last 3 minutes. God Bless the NFL.

The players felt bad for Flores. BB wanted to put 60+ on them. Hehe.
