Wheeler Walker Jr, that hilariously offensive country music singer I keep posting about in this thread? He's now at the top of the iTunes chart for country music. Despite not being able to be played on the radio, because of songs like this (in the NSFW spirit of the thread): I love country music. It's about 90% of what I listen to. But the way it's going is fucking horrible. And what's cool is, Wheeler Walker Jr (that's a stage name, if you can't tell), is actually a very successful comedy writer, and his brother is the lead bassist for the Scissor Sisters. So his music is actually incredible, and while they lyrics are hilariously evil, the songs are extremely well-written. If Kacey Musgraves got him to open for her I think Nashville would just permanently close.
I just found out that Slayer is going to be playing down here for the first time since 1987. My brother went to that show, and Joan Jett opened for them. He met her after the show, and said that she was a bitch. Looks Jungle Julia and I won't have to travel for our next concert.
Warms the cockles of my heart that in today's media a man with an 80s sense of female nudity can rise to the top still without being shrieked down. Give it time.
I only learned about this because my wife shouted from the other room "hey that fucking asshole you like is at the top of itunes! Just read it on TMZ!!!"
Gee. It’s almost like the 6 idiots who shriek their outrage on twitter aren’t representative of the rest of society. Or something. I’d love to commission him to write a song that is basically a STFU to outraged and politically correct people.
He released his first album on pornhub. That was his middle finger. His first single is a work of art. I think I've posted it before, but if not, here it is again just in case: Again, his brother is the bassist for these guys: Dude has some serious music creds.
I think this was his first appearance. He’s wearing a fake moustache then and I guess performed this to an unsuspecting audience.
South Park’s entire 19th season was exactly that. The hint has been taken by those it was directed at exactly zero times. They were pretty obvious.
Yo Nett, looking for another conversation-piece DIY project? This is brilliant and insanely efficient. No chainsaw noise, no breaking your shoulders swinging a splitting maul:
Yeah, right now I'm trying to justify building my own bandsaw mill. I subscribe to Matt Cremona's YouTube channel, and holy shit do I lust after his home made mill that he started building 2 years ago in his back yard/driveway. He's got it built and is using it regularly... Here's his first video in the series from a couple years ago: Here's yesterday's video of him slabbing up a large Red Oak log. It's fucking awesome.
It seems like that the Twitterverse has been defeated for once: https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/baby-its-cold-outside-back-on-the-air
The worst thing about owning a business? You *always* have a target on your back. Long sorry, shorter- My bookkeeper/accountant of the past 7 years made some $17k in back tax payments to the IRS in my name. Only the payments went to her business and months later she’s yet to produce receipts or proof from the IRS. She also gets defensive when I request. I hired a forensic accountant to go to the IRS and track said payments to see if they were indeed legit. It’s possible she’s on the up and up, but even my tax attorney said it’s unlikely. She also runs a charity thru her church. Most likely she did embezzle, I’ll slap a lien on her property and I’ll receive no repayments. I hate to bitch about running a business, but this was the biggest slap in the face I’ve ever come across.
Sorry to hear it... but yeah, there's a special level of hell reserved for people that you have to trust like that. I hope it gets sorted out in your favour... On the ironically positive side, is her embezzlement and your legal fees tax deductible?
