    Infinity War:

Have to agree with the both of you. They did a very good job of blending every ones time on screen together. Sometimes if felt like you where watching a couple of movies all in one and it jumped around a bit.

If you notice all the people that didn't die where the ones that were in the original Avengers, so maybe the old Avengers have to save the new Marvel characters and they will become the new Avengers

What was the symbol on Nick Fury's little device that he dropped?

Took the kids to Infinity War at the IMAX today. I loved it, the kids were pissed off because it wasn't wrapped up all tidy in a bow at the end. They've never dealt with a two part movie where you gotta wait a year for the second part.

ETA: Finally, Marvel has a decent villain. He's not the Joker from the Dark Knight, but at least he's not drunk Ben Kingsley or an evil elf or some such shit.

Surprised to see Red Skull have his little spot, looked like Death from the old Castlevania games.

Also, it bothered me that it took 3 minutes to forge Thor's bitchin' new axe, reminiscent of Iron Man 1 when Stark created an impossible to make element in his basement.

Went yesterday with my son's. If you enjoyed the first movie, you will enjoy this one.

The Avengers film next June will reportedly involve the surviving characters jumping through the timelines of previous MCU films including the climactic battle of the first Avengers film. Remember Dr. Strange’s final line: “It was the only way.”

I liked it very much. I like all the Star Wars movies*, so I am not the most unbiased reviewer. The film did a good job of being its own stand-alone adventure while tying into some backstory. I didn't know anything about the plot or what parts of Han's past they were going to focus on, so I enjoyed very much seeing it unfold. Obviously, I know that Han and Lando live, but that never really came into question. So, the other stuff was fun. Most of the tie-in, backstory bits were clever. I like Rogue One a little more, I think, but it exceeded my expectations on several levels.
So, THAT's the Kessel Run! (and that's why Rey said 13. Ha.)
I could've done without the Space Octopus or the man-on-robot love, but whatever.
So, this isn't much of a review - just a recommendation to see it.

*I don't count any of Episodes I-III because they're horrible.

For Infinity War viewers, is the big spoiler just that

the movie ends with or contains the same scene as the comic book that Thanos ends up with the gauntlet and destroys half the universe? I haven't even read that series but thought it was a pretty well-known and classic comic book scene.

...'cause I've managed to avoid spoilers so far but would be much less careful if that were the only real spoiler.

    Comic spoiler:
In issue #1 of The Infinity Gauntlet comic, he snaps his fingers and kills half the universe as an offering to Death, who (appearing as a hooded woman) Thanos is in love with. Ultimately Thanos’ goal was to take over for the cosmic being Eternity, who is the living embodiment of the entire Universe.

Thanos was thwarted by Nebula and ultimately Adam Warlock, who took the Infinity Gauntlet to The Living Tribunal (most powerful being) who destroyed it.

@Crown Royal so... That doesn't answer my question though. Is that basically the only spoiler in the movie? If you know the story arc of the comics, there are no further surprises?

I don't know the comic, but in the movie
that half of the Universe includes some of the Super Heroes and major characters that appear in several of the MCU films. So, I don't know if that's the same as the comic, or if the same ones disappear in the comic as the film. I guess the "who" may be the bigger spoiler than the "what" ?

For “Infinity Gauntlet” thats it, at least for now. There are a few series following the Gauntlet (Infinity War was second) and this movie seems to be borrowing snips from all of them. Make no mistake: the movie is BARELY faithful to the comic plot. Thanos’ mission was pure malevolence in the comic series, they didn’t show the “Why” of his point of view like the film does so well.

The movie is better than the comic.

    Hereditary

    Tour. De. Force.

Cold, nasty, nihilistic nightmare about the breakdown of a family after its bizarre matriarch grandmother dies. Toni Collette gives her best performance yet and the film jolts you with genuinely sinister and horrifying shocks early and often, gleefully stepping over the line and leaving you feeling violated and gasping for air when the credits finally roll. In a good way.

A masterpiece that will leave some you feeling uneasy long after it’s over, even more amazing that it’s a first-time filmmaker. Probably the best horror film of the entire decade.

    10/10

The movie Creep can be found on Netflix. It’s a found footage horror movie but there are a lot of hilarious scenes in it.

    There’s also some disturbing scenes.

I don’t think I’ve laughed and been disturbed in the same film since American Psycho.

    Incredibles 2

It was...credible. Perfectly serviceable Pixar sequel, with all that entails. Callbacks and Easter eggs and nostalgia set pieces. Your kids will love it. You yourself might be disappointed, if you're expecting anything as good as the first.

And they're not kidding about those seizure warnings, it's the whole damn screen strobing for several seconds at a time

    Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Normally I would tag plot spoilers, but I’m not going to because this movie was so fucking terrible you should fully know what a pile of shit it is. This wasn’t a movie as much as it was a collection of action scenes in set pieces, because if you try to understand the plot or the character motivations you’ll give yourself brain cancer.

The plot was a poor rip off of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, except it was even dumber. Apparently not enough people had died in previous 4 movies, because the characters care far more about the dinosaurs than any person they put in harms way. The red head chick is somehow conflicted at the end about whether or not to release all of them into Northern California, then stupid clone girl does it anyway. Some especially retarded shit:

-How did the old man not know that a super lab capable of housing dinosaurs was below his house?
-Why does the dumbwaiter go down to the lab that has high tech security?
-Why were dinosaurs only going for $5-10 million at the auction when pro athletes are 50-100M sometimes? They’re fucking dinosaurs.
-So they made a weaponized raptor-hybrid thing. To target its attack, you have to use a laser-pointer and a sound-emitting button to trigger the attack. In other words, more or less the same action as a gun. So why bother?
-If they wanted to rescue the dinosaurs, why not just bring them to the other island instead of some mansion in California?

So much retarded shit. Skip it.

    0/10.

It looked so bad that I could have wrote a bad review for it before even watching it. Are they simply trying to drive Spielberg into an early grave now?

Read the director always wanted to make 3 jp movies. and the next one is the one he always wanted to make so this was just a set up.
