Sherman to SF? BBWWAAAHHHHH!!!!! I love it! Also like I said in the WDT, that Griffin kid at the combine was something else.
lol packers. Have fun watching Jordy Nelson celebrate in the endzone wearing black and white. I'm sure Raiders fans will be kind to yall. They're known for their sportsmanship.
That was a huge mistake. He is a fan favorite too. They low balled him and basically forced him out for the cap. What a bunch of shitty business.
I like the Cousins deal. I like him as a QB, I like what I understand about him as a person, and I like his fit in MN. I think the deal is fair for both sides. I also like that it's fully-guaranteed, an NBA deal essentially, which should be the case for all NFL contracts in my opinion. I the Keenum will be good in Denver. Alex Smith to Washington is hilarious for everyone but Washington fans. Sherman negotiating his own deal with the 49ers was the quintessential Sherman move. The Rams are gonna be fun to watch. Lamar Jackson is gonna fall in the draft and every team that passes on him is gonna regret doing so. He'll be the 2nd best QB to come out of the 2018 draft. The first will be Baker Mayfield.
Your man bought a minority ownership stake in the Bucks. Normally I can't stand Rodgers but that's a pretty baller move. Good for the city to show his (literal) investment in it too.
It's the night before draft day. I thought I'd stir the pot. I'm not a Browns fan. But, I think they should pick Barkley first overall and pick Chubb with fourth if he is still there and I think he will be. I know everyone is screaming QB, but they have a good QB in Tyrod Taylor already. Hue should be able to win games with him no problem. It's a deep draft in QB's, so the Browns could take a shot in the second round for their potential franchise QB. Tell me how crazy I am and why.
They do not have a "good QB" in Tyrod. I say this as a Bills fan. They have an adequate QB in Tyrod, who would be an ideal bridge for a rookie to sit behind. If they don't have a solid answer at QB, any games they win next year will be a detriment, because it will diminish their draft pick. They don't need another freaking project. They need to take their shot at the best pro-ready quarterback in the draft who will have the happy opportunity to sit for a year and learn. The most important position in all of professional sports is a quarterback. They have a rare chance to come away with the best QB in the draft, and still a top-5 draft pick. That never happens. If the Browns don't pick a QB with #1, their entire management team deserves to be fired instantly and blackballed from the league for shocking incompetence. They are not getting this shot again next year.
Hue's only won 1 game in two years so.....Also, they haven't shown any ability to select a franchise QB in the 1st round. Hell, the haven't found anyone as good as Tyrod in the first round. I'm sure they take one with the first overall pick but i still think it's a mistake.
With reports coming out that the Browns are gonna draft Mayfield first, thought I'd quote this as a friendly reminder. Also wouldn't be surprised to see the patriots take Jackson, possibly by trading up to do so. Everyone says a team needs to change their offense to fit LJ, I don't think that's true. I think he's a smart kid who happens to be insanely athletically gifted, and that he will excel in any system. Everyone's just so damn blinded by Jackson's running abilities that they forget forget he's a good quarterback also.
Only stupid people are suggesting this could happen. If the Browns actually want Mayfield, he will still be available at no. 4. They would take Barkley first. The Giants could easily take Rosen / Allen / Darnold and let him sit and watch Eli for two years and be in great shape. The Jets could easily take one of those three and start him now, trial by fire. Neither the Giants nor the Jets will (or would) take Mayfield. If the Browns take a QB first, that won't be stupid. But, if they have graded Mayfield as their favorite QB and they take him first, that will be the most Browns thing they have ever done, stupidity orders of magnitude above their most recent failures on draft day.
Dude.... it's the browns. I don't put anything past them. I'm actually of the opinion the Browns should take a QB at both 1 and 4 just to hedge against themselves (I say Darnold at 1 and Mayfield at 4). Make sure you get it right this time, you know, since they've fucked up drafting QBs since forever. Then I'd keep whichever one fits their team best, and trade the other for a missing piece at a later date.
With the first pick of the 2018 draft, the Cleveland Browns select.... BAKER MAYFIELD!!!!! Again, I still think he's the best QB in this draft. I also agree with you he'd be available at #4 too, so if they wanted to do that they should have taken Barkley first.
The Barkley and Darnold picks were spot on. Beyond that, the top of this draft was full of shit. Rosen should never have gotten past Denver.
I am disappointed that I hadn't posted it here to quote, but I told several people IRL that I predicted that the Browns would trade back into the first round and take Mayfield, a la Manziel, Weeden, and Quinn. I am starting to buy into the theory that the Browns are a rigged team that loses on purpose.
There's no other explanation. They take Barkley at one and they still can potentially pick up a franchise QB. There were literally 4 QBs that people were arguing about as equally graded or differently graded, but the same 4. And, Cleveland was also picking 4th. "Oh, darn, the Giants took Allen at 2 and the Jets took Mayfield at 3. Boo hoo, we're stuck with Rosen/Darnold" or whatever. I'm actually a little giddy at how funny this is. I was thinking we wouldn't be able mock Cleveland as bad. Ha. What an inept crew running that show. Good times.
Nah Mayfield is the best QB in the draft. Can't beat smarts and hunger (not academic smarts like Rosen thinks he's smart, I mean like is a playbook savant smarts and loves football because he can't stop being competitive). But my issue with them is they could have had him at 4, and then taken Barkley at 1, who in my opinion was the best player of any position.
